Chapter 42

Luna POV:

We all watch as Future Lucy looks very distressed, tears fill her eyes as she tries to figure out how she can help us.

"I'm so sorry! Now I'm not even sure why I came to the past at all, ever since I came here I've been trying to figure out how to help and what I could do to help you..." She says wiping some tears from her eyes.

"We'll figure something out Lucy." I say smiling softly at her.

"Luna's right." Natsu says taking Lucy's hand in his. "Thank you, for giving us a future.. I know we'll be able to change things and it's all thanks to you Lucy!"

With a smile from all of us the Future Lucy gains courage, rising to her feet she glances around trying to get her bearings. 

"I think I know where we are, follow me this way!" She cries and begins to run down a small corridor.

We begin to run down many different corridors, it's getting a little bumpy being on Natsu's back but I'm a little nervous about walking on my legs. My magic energy slowly feels like it's coming back so I try summoning my wings, they appear on my back and they don't look too bad.

"Hey Natsu wait a second" I say to him.

"What's wrong Luna?" He asks me pausing.

"I think I can get around by my self now." I say giving the wings a flap.

I flap them a little more until I begin to move from Natsu's back, he lets go of my legs slowly until I'm hovering in the air. I give my legs a stretch, wincing at the pain in them but once they are straight I'm good.

"Right, let's catch up with the others." I say smiling, he smiles back at me and we then run or in my case fly after the others. "You really know these hallways Lucy." I say flying next to Future Lucy.

"It's the least I can do, I want to avoid you all getting caught by the royal guard again." Future Lucy says to me. "By the way Luna, did you think about what I asked?"

I look at her and then look away, if I'm honest I have. I've tried to bring it up with Natsu or my siblings but they always dismiss it. I want to speak about it, because at the end of the day I will be the one who's going to transform. And I also think that if it's the only way that I can protect those I love I'll do it in a heart beat.

"I have thought about it, but I'm still a little unsure." I say playing with a strand of my hair. "It's a big choice to make, but I know in the end I'll make the right one."

Future Lucy smiles at me, as we keep running through different hallways Mirajane tells me that we'll need to set off the signal soon to let everyone know that we've rescued Lucy and Yukino. But as we turn a corner we see guards running towards us.

"The royal forces?!" Future Lucy exclaims. "They shouldn't have been stationed here..."

"Don't worry about it, as long as we've got magic we ain't getting captured!" Natsu cries smashing his fists together.

"Exactly." Loke agrees.

"Um everyone...Arcadios isn't here!" Wendy cries shaking slightly. "Yukino isn't here either!"

Taking a quick glance around I notice she's right, where could they have gone?!

"Why'd they go off without a word?" Our Lucy questions.

The guards then begin to charge towards us, I brace my self for their attacks and then notice Mirajane run back the way we came.

"I don't know where that Knight Captain went, but I'm worried about Yukino!" She says as she runs. "I'm going back for her!"
