Chapter 18

Luna POV:

As I sat down on the soft sand with the waves lapping at my feet, my body tingles with the new power raging inside me. It's like nothing I've ever felt before, this new sense of magic, power. I stand up and look at my reflection in the water. My hair is the same but now has some blue and silver highlights and my eyes seem brighter, but as I look at myself I notice the pain in my eyes and I'm hit with flashbacks from when I was younger.

"Please stop Uncle Z!" I yell as he attaches wires onto my body.

"Keep still!" He yells at me and slaps my face.

"Daddy please help me!"

He ties me down and continues to place the wires onto my body.

"You need this Luna! Without this you won't be able to help me in the future..." He whispers softly as he strokes my face, I spit at him and he turns the machine on.

I scream at the top of my lungs and try to hold the magic energy in my body, fighting with all I have I bite my tongue to try and stop my screams.

"Very good Luna....Or should I say...." He says and then I black out.

----------------------Flashback End------------------------

Looking out as the moon kisses the horizon I think about what just happened and feel someone place a warm hand onto my shoulder.

"Nice isn't it?" He asks me.

"Oh hey Natsu....feeling ok?" I ask turning back at him.

"Yeah just soar now, how about you? You unlocked the dragon force while it was happening." He says looking at me with concern.

"Dragon Force?" I ask confused.

"It's something all dragon slayers are able to do, it allows us to take on some aspects of a dragon. When it happens to me I get these scales on my face and I look badass!" He says smiling. "But with you, your hair changed colour and the tattoo on your back glowed, it was pretty cool and your eyes changed colour too."

"My eyes?" I say placing a hand onto my eyelid.

"Yeah they turned silver. Made them look awesome." He says wrapping his arms around me. "Seriously though, how are you feeling. You blacked out from the pain and only woke up once the spell was finished, and then you left without a word."

I look up at him and rest my head on his scarf, it smells of smoke and wood which offers me comfort. I look into his onyx eyes as he pushes hair away from my face.

"Just memories, Mira told me that they can make me stronger...But I feel like the keep dragging me down......"

"Well let me tell you this Lu, memories can bring us down when things trigger sadness inside of us. Like when I eat things that Igneel would catch for me it makes me think of him, or when I go to Lisanna and my old hide out I think of when she was sent to Edolas." He cups my face with his hands. "But I'm here to help you in the hard times."

He pulls something from his pocket and passes it to me, it's a small charm in the shape of a flame and on the other side it has the words 'always here for you' written in swirly letters.

"Natsu..." I say looking at him.

He attaches it onto my bracelet and smiles at me.

"When we win the games how about some ice cream? My treat." He gives me a goofy smile and then walks back into the cabin to be with everyone.

I stand there with my cheeks glowing as bright as Natsu's fire, did he just ask me on a date? I slip my shoes off and then walk into the sea letting the coolness calm me and then I hear the slice of a blade through the air, turning to one side I grab the handle of the blade and clash swords with Erza. She smiles at me and then we start attacking each other swinging our swords until we're both out of breath.

"You are a fantastic wizard Luna, I wouldn't expect anything less from the sister of Mirajane." She says smiling at me.

"Not too bad yourself Erza, why aren't you inside getting your second origin unlocked?" I ask passing her blade back to her.

"Apparently mine was already unlocked. I'm surprised that you are able to fight and stand after having yours unlocked, you looked like you were in agony." She says softly.

"I was." I answer simply. "But it actually wasn't too different to what I went through with Zeref, and I'm not just the sister of Mirajane." I say igniting my fist with magic.

"Oh, so who are you then?" Erza says with her hands on her hips.

"I'm Luna Nightwing, the Apocalypse dragon slayer. Daughter of Acnologia." I say smiling.

Natsu POV:

I look out of the window and see Luna fighting with Erza, whenever I'm with her she gives me a feeling that I've never felt before. And as I watch he fight I notice the flame charm shining on her bracelet, I got it for her after she came to the guild to show that I'd be there to help her with whatever she needed.

"Hey Natsu." Grey says walking over to me, he's covered in sweat and panting.

"Oh hey man, you feeling ok? You stink!" I say cracking a joke while I watch Luna.

"Yeah, and thanks for that you pyro. Luna's something different isn't she I mean to live like she did and come from it stronger than before..." He says and glances out of the window.

"Yeah she's amazing...." I say gazing as her body moves like a dance while she fights Erza.

"Natsu can I speak to you please." Ultear asks walking over. "Its about Luna."

I stand up and follow her outside so that we can talk, she has a nervous look on her face. And when we arrive I notice Jellal is there too.

"Whats this about Luna?" I ask my voice firm.

"She's different to other wizards, she has been tested by Zeref for about eleven years I believe and we think that Zeref may have been doing more damage to her than we thought..." He says.

"What do you mean?" I say glancing back.

"You cant allow her to use dragon force, because we believe that she will take on the form of a dragon if she does." Ultear says gravely.

"Isn't that like take over magic then? Surely she can use it to her advantage?" I ask confused.

"With training she might, but without it...." Ultear says and then walks off.

"She might not come back from it." Jellal says and leaves me scared and dumbfounded.
