Chapter 10: The Fallen

               ~ Liam's POV (Your Brother) ~

I slam down the remote, making the TV turn off. "That's my sister they have..." I mutter darkly, glaring at the blank TV screen. I had turned on the news to see if they had found anything else on her missing person case. But the only new thing had been some pictures; pictures of her with them.

One of the pictures had been of her, at the police station. A police station where she had been safe, then taken. Again. The other picture was her, driving a car. The picture hadn't shown them, but I knew they were in that car – probably forcing her to drive them somewhere. "I'll do whatever it takes to get my sister back... Even if they kill me, I won't stop trying to save her..."

~ Your POV ~

"Natsu! I told you already, stop throwing stuff at me!" You yell at him, frustrated. "But (Y/n)-" He tries to object. "No," You state, cutting him off. Wendy had cast one of her spells on Natsu, so he wasn't throwing up all over. You were just dreading when the spell would wear off. But Natsu in a small space, not having any way to let energy out... Not a good idea. In a way, his motion sickness was a blessing to those around him.

"I already told you the past SEVENTEEN times – we aren't stopping. We literally JUST took a lunch break," you shout at him. "(Y/n)-sama is right, Natsu-san. We just had a lunch break," Wendy says, her soft voice hardly traveling in the confined space. You smile at Wendy, glad she was backing you up. During the long hours of the car rides, you had gotten to know her quite well. She really was a sweet girl.

"Hey... What's that?" Natsu asks, pointing out the window. "Natsu, for the actual LAST TIME, I am not stopping. You've already tried that method AT LEAST six times – it's not going to work." You groan, rubbing your temple while steering with one hand. "No, this time it's actually something. I'm serious. I hear something, kind of like the metal bird we heard a couple days ago," Natsu explains, trying to get a better look out the window.

"Shit... Ok. Everyone get out of the car. We need to go hide," You order, pulling the car over on the empty road. You jump out of the car, hoping Natsu was in fact serious this time. But you could hear it now. The sound of motors, coming closer. Yes, more than one.

"Over here!" You yell, running for the cover of the trees. "What are those things?" Wendy squeaks out, carrying Carla in her arms. "No time to explain now! Where's Lucy?" You yell over your shoulder, almost to the trees. "Wait! I'm stuck!" Lucy yells from behind. You spin around, only to see Lucy still in the car. "Just open the doors!" You yell back, not running anymore. The noise sounded much closer. "I can't! It won't open!" You groan in frustration, running back towards the car.

"Wait, (Y/n)!" Natsu yells. "Go without us! We'll catch up to you! You two can smell us out later if you have to!" You shout back. Natsu probably would've argued, but he had Wendy with him. And there was no time to lose. "Fine... Be careful!" He yells back over the roar, grabbing Wendy's hand. He drags her along towards the tree line.

I hope I didn't just make a horrible mistake...

You make it to the car, breathing heavily. You pull at the door handle, but the door appeared to be jammed. "Try going out the other door!" You shout. Lucy nods, crawling over the seats to the other door. "I think it's locked!" She replies, pushing and pulling at it. "Ok, crawl up to the front seats!" You reply, pulling at the front passenger door. It was locked.

"(Y/n)... Just leave me. Those guys might not even look in here," Lucy says, trying to sound optimistic. "No... I can't. They will check in here. I'm pretty sure they know I stole a car. Wait... Let me try to bust out the window!" You tell her. She nods, looking somewhat like a trapped mouse in the claws of a cat. Hopeless. You slam against the glass window with your shoulder, grunting from the impact. With no luck, you try kicking, punching, and elbowing. The only results were a few bruised and swollen knuckles.
