"C'mon Charles hurry up and pick something, it's not that hard." Raven whined to her brother for the seventh time. Charles just ignored her and kept looking through the new range of cardigans the store had for sale.
"You, can't rush this Raven, it's a vey delicate process." Charles said as he moved on to the next rack, it seemed nothing in the previous one had caught his attention.
"Charles, they are the same cardigans, just in different colours," she couldn't understand her brother when it came to clothes. "And I don't even know why you wear them, they make you look old." Charles turned his head towards his sister and frowned.
"Well thank you for your opinion Raven but I can-" Charles stopped suddenly and then Raven noticed that he was no longer looking at her, but at something behind her. She was about to turn around and have a look herself when her brother's arm shot out to stop her.
"No Raven don't look behind you." Charles said, his voice was urgent and he sounded afraid.
"Why not, what is it?" She questioned she was actually getting quite nervous.
"Nothing to worry about, well actually it's a lot to worry about but try not to panic." Charles said in a rush still looking at the mysterious 'something'. Then he started shuffling closer to Raven so that she was stood in front of him.
"Charles, what are you doing?" She said, truly puzzled at his actions.
"Just stay there. When I say 'Go', head to the escalator going up." Raven wasn't entirely sure she should be going along with this but she nodded anyway. Charles looked up over Raven's shoulder, they were nearly the same height, and frowned at what he saw. After a few moments he gave a nod,
"Come on, now." He said and made his way quickly, but casually over to the escalators. Charles hopped on the moving staircase first and then Raven got on two steps behind him. She still had no idea about what was happening but she had a feeling that it was someone who Charles didn't want to see.
They reached the first floor of the shop and Raven saw that this was the floor dedicated to women's clothing. She looked to Charles to ask what he wanted to do now but he had started walking through the racks of clothes in a seemingly random direction. She had to nearly jog to keep up with him.
"Charles, you're going to have to tell me what's going on, who are you trying to avoid?" Charles stopped and craned his neck to look at the escalators again. He didn't look at Raven as he started to explain, instead keeping his gaze focussed on that one spot.
"There was a bloke from my class in college, I didn't want him to recognise me." He said in a hushed voice. This information was of little help to Raven, she was still trying to make sense of the whole situation.
"You're going to have to give me a bit more to go on than that Charles. There were lots of guys in your college, what's so special about this one." Charles gave her a 'Look'
"Raven, can you not remember that guy who I had a crush on. Emma Frost found out about it and told everyone and I was publicly humiliated." Understanding crossed her face. She knew what he was going on about now.
"Oh! That German guy, Erik something-or-other. That bloke you liked for nearly two years. That's the guy you were running away from?" She asked and Charles nodded his head mutely. "Well it's been years Charles, he probably doesn't even remember you." Raven tried to reason but Charles shook his head.
"When the entire school found out that I liked him my college career was over, he'll definitely remember me as that nerd who obsessed about him. God knows what he'll do if he sees me here." Charles looked down at the floor.
