"You have no clue do you?" Raven asked Erik with a sigh. Erik looked at her.

"Well you should know by now that I've never celebrated before and I've certainly never given people gifts." Erik said his voice hard. Raven looked straight back at him unaffected by his murderous gaze. She knew that Erik hadn't experienced Christmas before, he'd never had any reason to. But this year he had Charles and herself and she thought that he should have been a bit more enthusiastic.

"Well how about instead of just diving straight in, we come up with some ideas of what Charles might like. What did you get him for his birthday?"

"That red lava lamp." Erik answered easily, Charles had loved it and Erik knew that it had made its home on Charles' bedside table.

"Lava lamp?" Raven asked with disbelief. Erik nodded slowly, not sure what was wrong. "You got him a lamp?"

"It was a lava lamp, you know you switch it on and it's like a volcano." Erik explained with hand movements, he had been rather pleased with himself  when he had found it.

"Oh my god Erik!" Raven exclaimed dramatically, "that was his first birthday with you two as a couple. Why did you get him a lamp?!" Erik was rather unsure of the situation now. What was the problem? Charles had loved the lamp.

"Charles loves that lamp, he told me so." Erik said.

"You should have taken him away somewhere nice, had a romantic dinner, not given him a lamp." Erik opened his mouth to say that he had also brought Charles Chinese but Raven wouldn't let him speak. "Erik we are fixing this." She took his hand and dragged him down the street towards where he had just parked his car.

"Raven where are we going?" Erik asked a bit worriedly.

"To book a holiday." Erik stared at her back as she continued to drag him.
