Bey's POV
"You can't go out with him Bey," Kelly told me.

"Why not?," I asked her.

"Because you're not a normal girl. You're a mermaid," she said whispering the last part.

"Really? I hadn't noticed," I said sarcastically.

Over the past 4 weeks, Chris and I have been getting along quite well.

We talk on the phone late at night and early in the morning. We have lunch together. He also walks me to my classes.

Earlier today, he asked me out. I was telling Kelly about it because I thought she'd be happy for me, but as you can see, she isn't.

"What if he spills water on you or something?," she asked.

"I'll just make up an excuse and get out of there," I said.

"And what if he stops you or it takes you longer than 10 seconds to get away or he chases after you?," she asked.

"That won't happen," I told her leaning against the lockers.

"How can you be so sure?," she asked me.

"I just am," I said.

"Come on Bey. Just tell him you can't go. The less people finding out about your secret, the better. The last thing I want is for you to be in some science lab or on my sushi platter," she stated.

"What if I just tell him? I really feel like I can trust him," I told her.

"You've only known Chris a month," she retorted.

"I hadn't even know the boys two hours before they knew," I said.

"If you hadn't locked them in the gym and told them your story about your family, do you really think they wouldn't have told. Hell, they were still going to tell if Jay hadn't convinced them not to. Kanye still wants to tell to this very day," Kelly added.

I didn't say anything. I just looked down at my hands.

"That's what this is all about, isn't it?," she asked.

"What are you talking about?," I asked.

"You know what I'm talking about. You're just doing this to try and get over Jay. You don't like Chris. You're forcing yourself to like him because you want to forget about Jay and the feelings you have for him, and you wanna see if it'll make Jay jealous," she said.

"That is not true," I told her.

"I know you Bey. And I know Jay. I could see it. I saw the way you two looked at each other when you thought no one was looking. I saw the way you two smiled at each other. I saw the way two talked to each other and acted all happy and giddy around each other. You can't stand here and tell me that you didn't have the slightest feelings for Jay. You wouldn't have let him take you out on that date if you didn't like him," Kelly told me.

I sighed.

"I've told you millions of times. I've don't have feelings for Jay, never had feelings for Jay, and never will," I said annoyed.
