The bell for us to leave rang loud through the school halls. Students got up quickly, and walked out of the class.
Me? I stayed behind, waiting for the after school traffic to subside.
"Hey, are you going to stay after to watch practice tonight?" Harry asked as we walked out of the class.
I took my phone out to check the time, and found a message waiting. I open it, and read quickly.
"I can't. Dad wants me to make dinner tonight." I groaned. "Sorry guys. Maybe another day."
Harry sighed. "Alright. See you later." He said, kissing my forehead. "Love you!" He called out running to catch up with the other boys.
"Yeah. Love you too." I mumbled.
"Can I walk with you? I don't want to ride the bus." Liam asked softly behind me.
I turned around, "sure." I said smiling.
He smiled and fell into step next to me. "How far do you live?" He asked.
"Not too far. Maybe a ten minute walk." I said.
"Really? Do you live over by that play ground place?" He asked, looking up at me.
I really could stare at those eyes forever. They're gorgeous. "Emilia?" He asked softly.
I looked down, a blush rising to my cheeks. I cleared my throat. "Yeah. Sorry." I said.
He chuckled. "Me too." He said looking down again.
We walked together and talked some on the way until we got to my house. "This is me." I sighed looking at him.
He frowned a little. "Maybe we can walk together tomorrow?" He asked.
I smiled at him. "Of course." I said.
He returned the smile. "Here." He said, writing his number down and giving it to me. "Text me later?" He asked hopefully.
I nodded. "Okay." I smiled and put the number safe in my pocket. "Bye Liam." I said before turning around.
"Bye Emilia." He said quietly.
I walked up the front steps and took a deep breath. I put my key in the door and walked in.
I scrunched up my nose, the smell of alcohol filling the air. I put my stuff down and walked into the kitchen. "Hi..." I said, seeing my dad sat in a chair with a beer in his hand.
He looked up at me. "Oh. You're home." He grumbled.
I sighed in frustration. "Oh. Hi. My day was great dad. Thank you for asking." I said sarcastically. I immediately regretted it.
Dad stood up and walked over to me. "You better watch that mouth of yours." He slurred.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah. Whatever." I said, trying to walk passed him. He grabbed my shirt, pulling my back.
"What is your problem?" He yelled, gripping my arms when I tried to pull away.
"My problem is you! Ever since mum died, you have been nothing but a heartless drunk, that doesn't even deserve to be called a father!" I yelled at him.
He shoved me against the wall, causing the back of my head to hit the corner of something. "It's all your fault she's gone! You couldn't have waited for your precious ice cream? You're selfish!" He yelled, shoving me again.
I pushed passed him, and ran to my room, locking the door behind me.
I ran to my desk and searched my top drawer. I smile when I found my silver razor. I picked it up and sat back in front of my door.
I stripped off my jacket, revealing my already cut arms from many nights before this one.
I heard my dad stomping up the stairs towards my room. "Open this door you little bitch!" He yelled, banging on the door.
I blocked out and let my blade take over his words. I winced at the first cut, but the last ones weren't too bad, and even felt good.
I waited until dad stomped down the stairs and quietly made my way to the bathroom. I washed my arm, and put my jacket on again.
I slowly walked back down to the kitchen to make dinner. Dad wasn't in the kitchen, or the living room. I looked out the front window to find his car missing.
I sighed in relief and started making dinner. I stuck dinner in the oven and felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I pulled my phone out to check the new text.
From Harold: "On my way home. Bringing Niall with me. Dad called and said he was going out. See you in a bit."
To Harold: "Okay. Sounds good."
I put my phone back in my pocket. I felt the small paper holding Liam's number move into my hand. I took it out and looked at it, pulling my phone out again.
To Leeyum: "Thanks for walking me home."
I pushed send and put my phone back in my pocket. The oven when off just as the boys were walking in.
"Perfect timing." Harry smiled, walking into the kitchen.
Niall breathed in through his nose. "What are you doing? Cooking Heaven in here?" He chuckled.
I laughed. "Far from it."
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I opened the oven and took out the food before pulling my phone out.
From Leeyum: "It was no problem. Especially because I live right next door."
My phone buzzed again.
From Leeyum: "Also, I'd do anything for a beautiful woman like you. :) "
