"You're going away?" I asked my dad quietly. He simply nodded in response. "Why?"

A short sigh escaped his lips. "I'm going to get help. I, uh, had a talk with the neighbor while we were out for drinks last night."

"Must have been some talk." I chuckled lightly.

"Yeah." He nodded. "We both kind of realized we needed to get a hold of ourselves if we didn't want to end up losing the people we care about the most. The only people we have left. For him, that's his wife, Karen, and his son, Liam. For me. That's Harry, and you." He said, looking up to meet my eyes.

I went to speak, but dad continued. "I know I haven't really been a father to you, or Harry for that matter, for almost three, closing on four years soon. That's why I want to get help. I want to become your father again. Not this disgusting drunk I've become."

I waited for him to continue. When he didn't I threw my arms around him. "How about we just start different when you get back?" I suggested. "How long will you be gone for?"

He nodded before pulling away. "About a month and a half. Unless I don't think I'm ready. I'd say about two, two and a half months at the most."

I nodded, looking at the table in thought. "Have you told Harry?"

"Yeah. I talked to him about it this morning." He said. "Also, Mrs. Payne will be right next door to make sure you and Harry are okay. She said to never hesitate to go over if you need anything."

I gave a smile. It's nice of Mrs. Payne to be so caring, but I'm sure Harry and I will be okay. "Has Liam's dad told him about all of this yet? I'm sure he will be really happy to know."

Dad shrugged, "I don't think so, seeing as he has been here all night." He said, standing up to leave.

I stayed sat at the table, letting things sink in.

Dad was actually getting some help.

He finally wants to change.

For himself.

For me.

For Harry.

For us.

From Leeyum: "Meet me at the park in ten minutes??"

I smiled down at the text I'd just gotten. "Hey, is it okay if I go to the park for a while?"  I asked dad as he passed my room.

"Going with anyone?" He asked, poking his head in the room.

"Uh... Maybe."

"Going with Liam?" Niall asked from nowhere. I honestly thought he left with the other boys three hours ago.

"Don't you have a girlfriend, or your own family to pester?" I asked when he sat on my bed.

He laughed and took my phone. "Oh. Not Liam. But Leeyum. Mmm. Sounds tasty." Niall commented, letting out another round of laughter.

I snatched my phone from his hands and smacked the back of his head. "You will not mention this." I warned him.

Dad left the room laughing at us. "Go have fun Emilia." He called out.

"Thank you!" I yelled back to him.

To Leeyum: "Sounds great."

Niall watched me as I sent the quick text back to Liam.

"You like him, don't you?" Niall asked.

I looked at him, caught off guard. "Uh... Why do you ask?" I'm pretty sure I am blushing like mad.
