Chapter 10

After 15 minutes of crying and showering, I stop. I run cold water to make my eyes look less puffy. I put on some clothes and go back to Lucas's room.When I walk in and he's on the phone.

"Maya's here so I'll see you tomorrow." I walk over to his bed and lay down. "Thanks, bye." He hangs up and puts the phone on his dresser. "Hey."

I try to ignore what happened earlier, "Hey, how ya feeling?"

"Really sore. They gave me a prescription, but still hurts like hell." He's not making eye contact with me again.

"Are you going to school tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I'll tough it out, but I'm probably not going to the game Saturday." I nod and the awkward silence begins. Luckily El walks in with Bradley shortly after.

"Do you guys wanna go with us to get takeout? " I look at Lucas.

"I'll stay. " He replies.

I nod,"Same."

"Well then can you guys take care of Bradley? " I nod and get up to take him. "Thanks we'll be back in about an hour," and with that she walks out. I bring Bradley over to the bed and set him in between Lucas and I. He crawls around and we play with him. 5 minutes in, I turn on the TV since it's so quiet. I go on demand and turn on pretty little liars.

"Again, Maya, seriously you always make me watch it."

"Oh be quiet you haven't even seen this episode, yet." I lay down on my elbow and play with Bradley while watching PLL.

(PLL spoiler alert for season 7) "Oh come one that was so obvious. Of course Ezra was going to propose. It couldn't have been Caleb." I look at Lucas, appalled.

"What do you have against Ezria?" He looks at me and he can tell he struck a nerve.

"Nothing, it's just Hanna and Caleb need a win."

"Well currently Spaleb is the ship," I make a gag motion so he'll know they make me wanna throw up. He laughs and smiles at me. I laugh a little. I missed this. Luc starts tickling Bradley and he starts laughing his adorable laugh. I give a little smile and continue watching the episode.

"We're back!" I hear Lizzie yell. Lucas and I get up and walk in to the kitchen. "We got Chinese food for you guys."

"Okay, thanks," Lucas and I sat at the same time. We both laugh. Lucas puts Bradley in his high chair so his mom can feed him. I get general tsos chicken with pork fried rice. Lucas gets pork lo mein, stir fry, sesame chicken, and fried rice. Boy can eat.

By the time we were finished eating it was 7. The rest of the day was awkward between Lucas and I. I went back to my apartment around 10 and went to sleep.

I wake up and check my alarm clock 7:13. I groan and change.

I wash my face, brush my teeth, and do my hair. I go up the fire escape to Lucas's room. "You ready?" I say going throw the window. It's freezing cold in here. I see lucas laying down on the bed, he looks horrible. "Are you okay?" I move over and sit on the edge of the bed. I feel his forehead and he's burning up. "Luke get up." He groans and rolls over. I go in to the kitchen and grab an ice pack and towel. "Here," I set the ice pack on his stomach. He reacts by getting up and getting the ice pack off of him.

"Maya, you can go to school. I'm not feeling well.... can you get me the-" he points to the trash can. I get it and pass it to him and he throws up. I go upstairs and change again. Then come back down.

"Yeah, no I'm staying,"I tell him. He's throwing up again, this time I'm rubbing his back. "Have you ate anything?" He shakes his head. "What about medicine?" He shakes his head again. "Here." I hand him the remote and go into the kitchen to make some soup. Once I'm done I put it in a bowl. Then I put it on one of those bed table stands next to it is water and the medicine. I walk into Lucas's room and place it next to him.

"Thanks." He starts to eat the soup. I text our group chat 💯Squad💯

Hey guys Lucas is sick so I'm taking care of him -M
Tell him I hope he feels better- R

"Who are you talking to?" Lucas asks.

"Just telling everyone we're not going to school today." He nods and continues eating.

After he was done eating I put then dishes in the sink. "How do you feel? " I ask him.

"Still sore and I have a massive headache. " I gesture for him to lay down on me and he does so. I wrap an arm around him and he wraps an arm under my leg. I play with his hair and massage his head. In 5 minutes, he starts to snore. I kiss his temple and continue to watch TV.

I couldn't stop picturing yesterday. I wanted to, but I couldn't. The kiss, it just kept playing over and over again in my head. I don't know if it because I felt guilty or because I wanted do it again.

But I know... it's changed everything.

It's true though nothing will ever be the same. So I guess I might give up on the other book because it's so much easier writing this one

I will write it I guess but I'll only post every other week for that one and this one I might post twice a week the maybe.
