Chapter 29

"So you guys never told me why you're here."

"Oh we don't know," Evan replies. Why does his voice have to be so ughhhh.

"So how long have you two been dating?" Liv asks.

"Almost a month," Lucas replied.

" Everyone would love to see both of you. Also, he," Maya points at Lucas, "dated Riley for 2 months. Now she's dating Farkle."

Liv's eyes bulge, "I miss everything."

Maya chuckled, "well maybe we can all go to Topanga's and you guys can catch up with everyone." Liv and Evan nodded

"Great, but can I talk to Maya alone first," Lucas says.

"Yeah, sure." Evan says, nudging his sister outside.

Lucas turns to Maya, "I thought we were gonna go to the hospital for the paternity test."

Maya rolls her eyes, "I thought you didn't want to do it."

"That was before you said after we did it we could have," he pauses to whisper, "sex."

Maya laughs and get up, "Well you have family in town we can always do it afterwords."

Lucas groans, "fine." He gets up and they head to Topanga's right after texting everyone to meet up there.

Everyone was having a good time, except Maya who kept looking at Evan. Evan stood up and went outside. Maya followed. "He doesn't know does he?" Evan asked.

"You know he doesn't. He doesn't even know I knew you were in town." Maya leaned her back against the brick wall. "And he can't Evan... that night. That's something he'd totally freak out about."

"Maya-" Evan tried.

"No, Evan, I'm serious. He'll never forgive us and you're sister will never forgive me." She regretted that night. It has gotten really dark for her. No one was there for her except Zay. When she saw him that night... she has no clue what had gotten into her.

"Okay I promise I won't bring it up." He combs his hand through his hair while doing a lip bit. "But Maya... that night could've been even more amazing than it was."

She walks back in sitting next to Lucas. "What's wrong?"

She leans her head on his shoulder, "nothing." He smiled at her adorableness and wrapped his arm around her.

Maya's POV

As the four of us were walking home, Evan asked a weird question. "So have you two had sex?" Maya's eyes widened as they kept walking.

Liv elbowed his side, "That's none of our buisness."

"No," he looks at me, "I can tell them, right?" He whispers. I nod. He turns back to them and tells them, "No."

"Oh." Evan says. "Well have you ever had sex?" And this conversation just keeps getting more and more awkward.

"Yeah I have a couple times, but I don't think we need to talk about it," Lucas replies.

"Okay what about you, Maya? Have you had or almost had sex with anyone, besides possibly Lucas?" When did he turn into such an ass?

"Uh one guy, he was a douche though."

Lucas looks at me surprised, "with who?"

"It was just some guy I met at a party."

"Does he go to our school?"

I rub the back of my neck, "no. I think he said he was from out of town. It was a while ago when we weren't on the best of terms."

"You had sex with someone and you never told me?"

I look at Lucas, "I backed out when I realized what I was doing..."

He nodded, not making eye contact with me. I don't get what the big deal is. He's had sex more than once.

I'm pretty sure everyone else felt the awkwardness. Not one word was said.

"Luc..." I trailed off.

"Maya, I'm fine. Okay?" He reaches over and grabs my hand.

I take my eyes off the screen and look at him, "Okay."

We didn't talk the rest of night. He would just draw circles on my hand with his thumb, or when I was cuddling with him he'd trace shapes in my back with his hand. But that was it.

"What do you mean he's not here?"

"I don't know, Maya." El tells me.

"Has he been acting different around you?" I asked.

"You think..." I nod. "He could especially with dad back."

"I'm gonna go look for him."

"You know where to go."

I stand up and look at her. "He wouldn't..." She looks at me. "I should hurry just to make sure."

"Do you want to bring someone just in case you have to..."

"I did it last time, it's fine... but if he really is, I'll text you." I walk in to the hall and run into Evan.

He smirks, "Hey, Maya."

I scoff, "Look Evan, that night... you can't tell him about the guy and you can't tell him about molly."

His smile disappears, "you think I'd tell him about Molly."

"You could," I mutter.

"Maya, I know that that night wasn't the best impression for me after you hadn't seen me for two years, but that night was a one time thing."

"... I have to go." I go around him and leave the apartment..
