Chapter 16

Maya POV

"Maya?" He kept asking. I had just pulled him away from Darby who was getting on my nerves. "Maya, seriously, answer me."
"WHAT?" I burst out loud.
"I was just trying to see if you were okay." He got up and started to walk away.
"Lucas," I call out to him. He stops, but doesn't turn around. "Look, I'm sorry for yelling at you. I'm just pissed."
"Maya, I'm not mad at you."
"Then why'd you get up?"
He turns to me and points towards the entrance, but I keep my eyes on him, "I was gonna get Riley." I look over and see she's standing there, looking clueless. Oh. "I'm gonna go get her." I nod and he goes to her. I take out my phone and go on snapchat. All of a sudden, everything's dark.
"Hey, Maya," a voice says. I can't believe it.
"Oh my gosh, DAVE," I say, turning around. I put down my phone and hug him. "I haven't seen you in forever."

"Yeah, I'm gonna try to get transferred back in to Mr. Matthews class."
"Yay!" I look over at the entrance and see Riley and Lucas coming over.
"You okay, Maya?" Dave must've saw me looking at them.
"Yeah I'm fine." He looks at me with disbelief.
"Those two words make up the most told lie in the English language." I look at him, but before I can say anything Riley and Lucas sit next to us.
"Hey Peaches." She wraps me in her arms and gives me a squeeze before letting go.
"Hey Riles." I sit back down in between her and Lucas, Dave sitting a step above us on the bleachers. "You guys remember Dave." I point towards Dave and they say their hellos. Me and Dave use to be a thing, shortly, but he was a good boyfriend I just didn't really want one at the time.
"You better tell Josh that I'm not the one he should be worried about." Lucas says, him and I start laughing, but Riley and Dave look confused.
"Oh yeah you guys don't know." Lucas starts coughing. Gosh it wasn't that funny. "You okay there Luc?"
"Yeah, I'm good."
"Anyway Josh wants me to make a choice. Between him and Ranger Rick." Lucas glares at me but I ignore it.
"Why do you have to choose?" Riley and Dave say at the same time.
"Maybe because we kissed." Lucas points at me and I point back.
"You guys kissed?" Dave asks.
"I think we might be overwhelming." Lucas says.
"Maybe we shouldn't mention that we slept together." I whisper loud enough for Dave to hear. I swear Dave's eyes were gonna pop right out of his head.
"You guys slept together?" He whisper yells. Riley was just sitting there confused as ever.
"No," we both laugh, again. Technically, we did last night, but not the way he was thinking. If I said we did Riley might feel betrayed, and I didn't want her to feel that way.
"Riley, we're kidding." I reach over and place my hand on her shoulder.
"I know." I let go and the rest of the game was awkward between Riles and I.

3-1 we won. I had just told Riley, Lucas, and Dave I was gonna wait by the gate for Josh. "Hey Josh."
"Hey Maya." He wraps his arms around my waist and I wrap mine around his neck.
"Are you still mad about the jersey tradition?" Earlier I had to beg him not to start anything. So right now, he's not a big fan of Lucas and I being alone together. Thank god Dave and Riley came.
"I don't think I can be. I mean you did it before we were a thing and you've done it while we were dating before. Plus Zay helped explain it." Right then and there Zay came up from behind and picked me.
"Zay, put me down." I couldn't stop laughing for some reason.
"Never." Zay replied.
"Josh, help." By the time I had managed to get it out Lucas and Riley were standing near us.
"Should I," he asked Riley and Lucas.
"Josh," I yelled.
"I'm kidding. Zay give me her."
"Never," and with Zay started to run towards the bathroom. I swear I'm gonna kill Zay once I get down... somehow.
"Zay I swear if you don't put me down I'm gonna tell everyone your secret. " Then he put me down, behind the girl restroom.
"Don't tell anyone, Maya." He pointed at me.
"Yeah, yeah." Motion my hands in a calm down way. "It's our secret." I cross my fingers then hear Josh, Riley, and Lucas yelling my name. "You guys are so slow," I say, walking around the corner
"Hey to be fair we weren't really trying," Lucas replies. I glare at him while I walk over to Josh and jump on his back.
"How about we go to Topanga's," Josh suggests. We all agree and we head to Topanga's. On our way there I rode on Josh's back and Riley called Farkle and Smackle, who were together.

So I had an idea for a chapter later in the book so i started writing that chapter and let's just say I'm gonna try to make it 2000 words just for that one chapter because I'm gonna take a break before that (like a week I don't know I haven't decided yet but you'll know then)
