His Secret

The next day we said our farewells and headed further east through to the Pink kingdom staying away from civilization. After a day of travelling, I was carrying everyone on a platform of earth going while meditating to keep my magic up enough to carry it. In the distance I sensed a cliff going up, and sensed weight at a point around the cliff, people. The cliff is where the kingdom was supposed to start. I stopped abruptly, someone had put the kingdom up. Most likely my mother, and someone else was trying to get up and attack. I pushed the platform down underground and went 'till we were under the assailants.

"Iris, what's going on?" Meya asked.

"Ya, why did you stop us here?" Inga added.

"Did you see the large cliff?" I turned my neck slightly.

"No why?" Tsubasa was looking lost.

"Well there is one and I did, and people trying to get up to attack my home! We will stop them, take them by surprise! Now, we go," I lifted us upwards and broke through the earth. "Stop!"

Before they could respond I used the excess earth I had moved and crushed a few enemies, I noticed they had brown uniforms.

I made a sphere of condensed air and yelled "Plug your noses." the sound enhanced and travelled farther. I took someones badge and formed it into a knife and sliced my was through several lines of enemies. I uppercut an important looking man and kicked at another. A strange smell wafted through the air, I airbent the smell away but it kept coming, I firebent one to a crisp and the smell went faster, I could feel my consciousness slipping. I fought to stay up. It was all too much, I fell and activated element mode so they couldn't hit me, I turned over to Tsubasa who was still standing, he moved his arm in an arch motion, he trailed a line of blue light that emanated from his hand. He moved so fast I couldn't see him, soldiers were dropping left and right, more lights appeared and more soldiers fell. I was confused, there were few soldiers left. They ran with their tails between their legs. The smell left with them. I slowly got up and left element mode. I fell again and this time I didn't get up, I had lost all consciousness.

I woke with a start and stumbled up to Tsubasa who was looking up at the city above. I put up rocks in a pyramid shape around him so that he couldn't move. A shard point moved towards his throat.

"Why have you been hiding this from us, and how did you stay conscious" I screamed, feeling betrayed.

"I would have told you, I hate keeping secrets from anyone but. Well. It's a kingdom secret I would be executed for treason, and I'm nose blind!" He answered frantically, I could tell that he was telling the truth so I released him, but I was still mad.

"Then come on we have a war to get to" I tried to be emotionless and keep going. No wonder his kingdom has the best secret ops team, the enemy literally doesn't have a candle of a chance to defeat their army, I wonder if it's now not a secret, we were rarely given updates and Tsubasa often went with one of the teachers to a secret place probably to teach him the ropes of the magic, I'd heard of it before and thought it was a dead magic, it's called arc magic. I stayed quiet as the others planned a way to get up the cliff.

"Hey, Iris, I'm-" Tsubasa was trying to apologize.

"Shut up, I know you couldn't tell me and I understand now." I shushed him and turned away, ashamed with myself. "Sorry for yelling."

The rest of the night I sat watch and thought silently about the day while everyone was asleep. After a while I felt something and let it come closer to us, it wasn't running and not trying to be stealthy, which meant it was friendly. It had a familiar aura, I looked up and saw who it was.

"Mom!" I ran and hugged her, I got right to the questions. "Why is the kingdom on a cliff, how is life, is Dad OK. Not. That, I care or anything." Mom was the only one of our parents who came by often or at all, well except Meya, her Mom lived with us.

"Well, umm, I pushed the kingdom up in element mode, stressful, and alive, not that you care or anything." She was the one who pushed the whole of the pink kingdom up on a cliff.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

"I could ask the same question!" She raised her eyebrows expecting an answer.

"Well, we felt as though we needed to help the war effort, I know we should have waited but we stopped at a free village and I learned the secondary elements and rescued the village from Gray soldiers, we left this morning and earlier we stopped a group of Brown soldiers from getting up the cliff." I restated our journey but left out the Tsubasa incident.

"Cool show me,"She asked, her arms crossed. I took her bracelet and twirled it around and stabbed a tree then returned the bracelet to her wrist. I then opened up a tunnel of empty air and let in air in the middle, condensed it and whispered but to her it was like I was talking. I sent lightning up in the air and moved it to wrap around me, I released it and Mom's face was priceless, her eyes were wide opened, and her mouth hanging open. I spun the ground so fast it liquidated immediately, I wrapped the lava around a rock I had left when we were fighting the brown soldiers.

"Cool huh." I smiled "Since you're here you might as well take watch, I'm tired."

She looked shocked and was about to say something but I fell asleep as soon as my head hit my roll.

Hi, I haven't given you my update schedule, I'm starting school next week so depending on homework and schedule I'll either update once, twice or thrice a week, so there will always be at least one update a week.
