We walked swiftly through the city and stopped at an inn in a dark and shady looking part of town.
"I don't care if you have reserved rooms we need a room now. If I don't get one someone's going to get hurt and you won't like it to much." Meya, a natural negotiator, slammed her fist on the counter top and a glass bottle with ink wobbled dangerously close to the edge. Hmmm I thought is there water in ink? I put my hand up to the ink and breathed in then out and it sloshed around. I moved it up, gosh it's heavy, I moved it over the inn keeper's head, Inga noticed and started giggling.
"What!" The inn keeper barked at him.
"Oh nothing," I marked innocently." or no, actually. It's this." I dropped the ink on his head, " I'll be taking those keys" I bent the keys over and turned with the others at my heel.
As soon as we turned the corner I turned to Meya.
"That was awesome! Your negotiation skills are on point." I grinned huge and put my thumb to my index finger and shook my forearm.
"Well it would've been better if Inga hadn't laughed." She looked over accusingly at him. She broke her seriousness and smiled at him.
"Take it easy on him, I almost exploded with laughter too." Tsubasa laughed lightly.
"I wish you hadn't done that, Iris." Of course my mother had to speak, party pooper. I huffed and stayed silent. We had two different rooms one was small and had one double bed and the other had two queen beds.
I put my hair up in a high bun and checked the room for crystalline mics or camera's in or around the room.
I finally finished and sat down. Tsubasa lay down next to me. Meya was being tended too by Inga on the other.
"Why so paranoid, Iris?" He asked with concern.
"Do you not remember that class we learned that a easy way to spy on someone is put mics or camera's in their room or a conference hall?" I recalled that class. I excelled in the ops class, we learned how to avoid being spied on and how to spy on. That gave me an idea, we want to find out about the enemy to help defeat them, and also how the war is going on. "I need to go for a newspaper."
I walked out to the lobby. "Whadda you want, girl." The innkeeper sneered, still with ink in his hair and on his clothes.
"A newspaper." I sneered.
"That all?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yep" He handed me a copy and went around back, I heard water start running. I turned back to the room to look at it.
Battalion defeats yellow battalion.
In a chance battle our glorious forces defeat the art mages. General Modgedes says her forces killed the entire battalion. They attacked in attempt to drive us from our homes, and claim it for their own. This looked like the people here were being fed lies about the war. Well maybe not the defeat of that Yellow battalion, but the reason of the war. I read on in the war effort page, it looked like we were neck and neck although we have numbers and pure will. That must have some real powerful peeps. I hoped that didn't last too long.
*knock knock knock* I rushed to the door and looked out the peep hole, I was NOT READY for what I had seen. I opened the door.
"Dad?" I asked, he looked a mix of anger and emotionlessness.
"Disappointment, I was looking for a spy I placed here, say you're mother has been missing awhile, is she with you?" he looked disgusted now, "Why is that boy from Blue here?"
"He is part of our team." I gritted through clenched teeth.
"The one from Green?" He scowled further.
"Still on the team-" I rolled my eyes.
"And the peasant from purple?" He looked disgusted.
"She's actually a citizen of pink, since she and I were at least two years of age." I tilted my head matter of fact-fly.
"Still a peasant." He turned his head away.
"Go knock up a pig!" I was getting mad.
"Why are you not at the temple?"
"Can you, maybe, take a hint as to why we're here. In the White kingdom. So close to the one who killed my sister. Your daughter!" I pointed to her room and slammed the door. I wonder why he's in the city?
There was a noise in the other room, I scrambled out of the room into mom's and poised myself for danger. I turned around and noticed the problem, my father had my mother bound in a rope of fire.
"Dad?!?" I was surprised, mom looked shook he looked malicious. He attacked her.
" Why are they here, they are supposed to be at the temple." He ignored me, my mother looked over at me with fear. He came here because he is mad we escaped. Something tells me him abusing me wasn't the only reason she locked him up. That means I have to do it myself, we were near the oceanfront, glass is melted sand, sand is tiny rocks, I used my powers, *poohm* the glass shattered and I activated element mode and took water from the ocean. I balled it up and entrapped my father with his mouth poking out so he could breathe. I threw him to the Red kingdom which was 50 kilometre's north, easy in element mode and then deactivated it.
"Sorry for the trouble" Mom said, I helped her up. I shook my head vigorously.
"It's fine, I'm just a little upset that thing is my dad."
Ok I'm gonna leave it there, I have pizza!
