Chapter 10 :
Stephanie's POV
I ran home after school and immediantly changed into the outfit Clara had given me yesterday. I felt more panicked today than I had any other days, and I'm not sure why.
Maybe it was the fact that I might be seeing the other boys, and they might try to talk to me. Or maybe it was that I would actually be PLAYING with Michael as I sat right next to him. Either way, I was freaking out.
I put on the same makeup I do everytime I meet Michael, the mascara with nude lipgloss and some foundation, then straighten my hair. I had to look better today than I did any other day, because I knew that there was a slight chance I would see Calum.
After I finished getting ready, I did my homework, which left me about five hours until it hit 12am, the time when I would be sneaking into the LA house.
I dialed a number on my phone, then heard someone pick up, "Marissa?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"Can we actually hang out now instead of later?"
"Uh..." I heard a muffled yell in the background, then a scream.
Marissa's scream.
"Marissa, are you alright?!" I asked frantically.
"Yeah, just fine. I'll pick you up, be there in two minutes." She then hung up.
I wondered what had happened twenty seconds ago, I was sure that it was her mom who had interrupted us, but I'm not exactly fond on what happened.
I shook my head, clearing all thoughts, then gathered a purse that contained money, hairties, and my phone, then ran downstairs with my bookbag (so that when I didn't come home tonight my parents would know Marissa "took" me to school).
When I got downstairs, my dad was sitting on the couch, reading a paper from one of his numerous binders he had for work.
His salt and pepper colored hair was matted down with gel, and he had a concentrated look on his face.
"Dad?" I said innocently.
"What?" He sighed, not looking up from his the paper he was studying.
"I'm going over Marissa's and sleeping over, she's going to take me to school tomorrow."
When I said that, then my dad finally looked up at me, "I don't think so young lady."
"Dad! Why can't I go!" I whined, feeling my heartbeat quicken.
"You should be studying for that science test you have on Thursday. God knows that you haven't studied at all, and if you get any less than a C+ on it, you're getting your Xbox taken away for a week." He said, glaring at me.
"I did study!" I whined, stomping a foot, "Plus, I made dinner yesterday, and helped Meghan with homework."
My dad sat there for about thirty seconds, thinking, "Alright, but tonight I'll call you to check up on your studying. And by that I mean you better study with Marissa, because I know she doesn't study either."
"Thank you so much!" I squealed, then ran over to hug my father.
That was a close one, if I would've stayed home, then I would've been blowing off Michael. If I had blown off Michael, then he would've hated me and that would've been a disaster.
I then heard Marissa's car pull up into my driveway, so I said goodbye to my family, then I was off to drive around the city.
Marissa dropped me off at the store down the street from the LA house, she thought I was meeting up with someone from school, and I couldn't be more thankful that she thought I was.
"Bye Steph!" She shouted out her car window as she drove away.
I felt a gust of wind hit me, and I shivered. I better get to that house quickly before someone steals me or something.
I got to the LA house, and I went to the back of it where huge bushes surrounded the backyard like a fence, all the fans were in the front by the entrance gate.
It was like twelve in the morning, so nobody was here except for three girls.
I took a deep breathe, then counted three bushes to the left, then pushed myself into it, slipping right through. Was there even wood in that bush? I couldn't answer because just as I looked down at the bush again, a distant voice yelled, "UP HERE!"
My head snapped up to Michael who was next to a window on the first floor.
"Did you hear that?!" One of the fans screamed from the front.
"IT WAS MICHAEL!" Another girl screamed.
"HURRY!" Michael yelled, motioning for me to get over to him before the girls saw me. I started running for my life, and Michael helped me push through the window, but before I'd gotten in fully, I had seen the flashes of iPhone cameras.
The girls had gotten pictures of the lower half of my body sneaking into the boys' LA house.
"Fuck, this won't end well..." Michael muttered.
"Sorry, my fault," I groaned, face-palming myself.
"No no no, I shouldn't have yelled over to you so loudly. It's not your fault at all." He laughed.
"This place is pretty nice..." I said, wandering around a bit, totally changing the subject.
"Yeah, but a certain four boys are going to totally trash it sooner of later." Michael said, smirking in a humerous way.
"Are we going to play video games?" I asked, and Michael looked at me with a weird face.
"Huh, this goes to prove you're not one of those fans who just used me to see the other boys. It's happened before, but you obviously aren't like those girls though."
I then felt guilty, knowing that I had slightly been using him to get to know Calum better, "Those girls are jerks then." I blushed, laughing nervously.
"Well c'mon, I'll show you to the main living room where we have all the gaming systems." Michael said, flicking his head, signaling me to follow him.
