Chapter 29 :
Stephanie's POV
I had gotten back my electronics a couple days ago. It's hard to think it's been a week since Michael had slept over my house last. We didn't really do much, we just slept, but it was still nice. Being in his company made my mood lighten, he just made me..... happy.
I slipped on my Vans, making sure I looked okay for tonight. Ashton had asked me out for lunch, God knows why, but Michael is forcing me to go. I really didn't want to, as Ashton hated me, but he had spontaneously asked me to go out, and me, being stupid, asked Michael for advice on what I should do.
Stupid me should've just shut up and not asked Michael, and stayed home. I could've easily pretended like I was sick, but now I have the threat Michael made hanging over my head.
If you don't go, I wont talk to you for a week, and I mean it.
I heard my house's doorbell ring, so I ran downstairs quickly. I opened the big, white door, being met with the bored face of Ashton.
"Hi Ashton." I said, and Ashton nodded. He turned around without saying anything, and walked to his car.
He had on blue jeans that were rolled up on his ankles, along with black Vans, and a black hoodie. He looked quite good, hell, anyone in his band looked good.
I got into the car, buckling my seatbelt as Ashton turned on his phone, hooking it up to the stereo.
"What're you doing?" I asked.
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm gonna listen to my music. God knows if I don't play music, all you'll hear is awkward silence in this car ride." Ashton rolled his eyes, almost like it was obvious.
"Oh." I mumbled, already knowing this trip was a very bad idea.
-
We were sat at our table, Ashton had taken me to a small burger place. I didn't really expect anything more, as I hadn't dressed for anything fancier than a quick lunch.
"Listen, I know I've been a snot to you lately, and I just want to apologize." Ashton said as we sat down, and I felt my heart leap. Had he actually just apologized? That was the weirdest thing ever, it was so.... random.
Ashton's POV
Stephanie stared at me like I had four eyes. She was obviously confused on why I had just apologized. I had decided to take Calum's suggestion and make it a reality. So, here I was, out getting food with Stephanie and apologizing. I mean, it's not that this entire apology was forced, but it was forced quite some bit.
"What?" Stephanie asked, still staring at me like I was a unicorn.
"I just said, I'm sorry. I've been a dick lately, sorry, I had some crazy idea about you, but I was wrong. Sorry... again." I said, then giggled because I had said sorry so many times.
Stephanie blushed, looking at me with her mouth open slightly. I could tell she was trying to process everything that was happening.
"I... Uh... It's okay, I think? I forgive you." She said, swallowing slowly.
"Can we just, like, start over? Like I really don't want to have any grudges, or just stuff like that." I said, fumbling over my words continuesly.
"Yeah, sure." Stephanie asked more than said.
I coughed, then held out my hand towards Stephanie, "Hi, I'm Ashton. Ashton Irwin."
Stephanie laughed, rolling her eyes, but not in a rude way, "Hi, I'm Stephanie. Stephanie Willis."
She reached her hand out, taking mine. We shook our hands while looking at each other's faces.
I couldn't help but smile, not having to hate someone, and forgiving them was the best feeling in the world.
