Chapter 22 :
Stephanie's POV
I slid down and sat on the floor, throwing my face into my hands. I was crying extremely hard, except I couldn't make any noise. Not with the boys just outside this door.
Why did I have to be so stupid?! I could've fixed this easily! I could've told my best friend that I was dating a band member, she was my most trusted person in the world for God's sake. And there I was, straight up lying to her just so that she wouldn't, what, maybe date her favorite band member? I don't know what I was trying to accomplish by lying, but I knew I had fucked up real good.
I had no Xbox, and no best friend anymore. Wow, life is quite amazing, isn't it?
Just then, I heard muffled voices from outside the door.
"Should I knock?" One voice whispered.
"Dude, she might just be taking a shit!" The other one whispered back.
"It doesn't take twenty minutes to take a normal shit!"
Oh for fuck's sake! They were trying to find me now! I wish they would just go away!
But I also wished I could cuddle someone right now. I felt so lonely. Losing your best friend is like losing a chunk of your heart, you cant live with a chunk of your heart missing.
"I'm gonna go for it." The first voice whispered again, then there was a knock on the bathroom door.
"Stephanie, you okay?" Calum's voice asked.
"Yeah, just peachy!" I replied, and there was a short silence after my response.
"Open the door?"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Pleaaaase?"
"Only if the other boys won't see me and go away." I offered.
"HURTFUL!" I heard Michael yell, then several feet padded away quietly.
"They're gone." Calum said, and I stood up, unlocking the door.
As soon as Calum saw my face, I noticed that he looked sympathetic, almost guilty.
"Come here." He said quietly, and I walked weakly into his arms, instantly breaking down.
"She's gone." I sobbed, knowing that I sounded completely stupid.
"Who?"
"My best friend. She left me. We fought and she's gone!"
Calum laid his hand on the back of my head, stroking my hair lightly, "It'll be okay. You have four new best friends right here in this house. You don't need her."
"You don't understand, she was my other half."
"I'm sure she'll be back, I promise." Calum said sincerely, then took me down the hall to the usual guest bedroom where we lay together.
As soon as he closed the door, I sat on the bed, and he sat next to me. We stared at each other for a little, then I went in to kiss Calum. When my lips laid on his, he seemed a little hesistant at first, but then slowly got into it. When I got my tongue imto his mouth, that's when it got awkward. He wouldn't put any force or love into the kiss.
Then, Calum randomely pulled away, standimg up as he ruffled his hands through his hair.
"Fuck, I told myself I wouldn't tell you this right now, not just after you lost your best friend. I knew I should've told you earlier. This is going to be really bad, but I just can't do this anymore." Calum rambled.
