"So, did anything happen?" My friend asked me through the phone. I was walking home, dragging my feet along the way. Another day my plan didn't work, but whatever, it wasn't my fault. I still needed to be positive though, one day it'll happen, I was sure of it.

"Nah, I saw him leave in his car." I shrugged even though Julian couldn't see me.

"Hell, sorry mate..."

"Yeah, but it's fine, at least he waved." I heard a soft chuckle coming from the other line. It doesn't matter how sad I can be, I'll always want to make people laugh. It cheers me up.

"Well that's a plus! Hey sorry but I gotta go, mum's callin' me out for some shit downstairs..." He sighed.

"Okay, don't worry and good luck there. See ya tomorrow." I hung up but as I did I was still able to hear a "See ya" from Juls.

I walked inside my house with floppy steps, dragging myself up the stairs and into my room. Another fucking day of disappointment.

My alarm went off for the third time that morning. I was already late so I didn't even try to hurry, it was cold and I was still tired. My mom left for work probably half hour ago so no one was gonna come and bother me. I had to get up eventually though, if I don't show up to school they'll call her.

I had a good reason to go anyways, I always had. Maybe today was the day. The day I could tell him how I felt. I had the whole thing planed: the day he didn't go to school in his car, I'd follow him so we can talk far away from school and no one will see us. It was a great plan!

Thinking about it brought a smile to my face and made it easier for me to get up. He did that.

I slowly got out of the bed, shivering at the loss of my blankets. I put on my clothes as quick as I could, which was honestly very slow, and went to the bathroom to fix myself. I didn't have many hopes that today was the day but I had to look good in case I saw him around, or anyone, I always had to look good. When I was presentable I grabbed my backpack and went downstairs, heading out the door after putting on my jacket. No time for breakfast today.

My phone vibrated inside my pocket when I was half way to school. I didn't noticed how fast I was walking, being realistic I never notice anything at this hour.

It was a text from Julian, my best friend.

"Are you coming today? Don't leave me alone again jackass." I chuckled at the screen, I missed a day of school last week and he got pissed. Dealing with school on your own is very tough. We have other friends but we don't have many classes together, unlike me and Julian.

I warmed up my hands before texting back, my fingers moving slow due the cold. "I'm on my way Jules, see you next period." Well, he was still gonna get mad at me for not showing up early but at least I was going!

It was a very cold morning and I was still feeling like literal crap so I lit up a cig just outside school when I got there, everybody was inside so it didn't matter. I had an hour free until recess so I needed to entertain myself until then.

When I was almost done with my first smoke I had my eyes fixated on the houses in front of me, I was really interested in that so I didn't realized someone was behind me, much less expected a voice from inside the school that nearly gave me a heart attack.

"Gotcha!" It screamed, making me jump almost a metre away.

"Holy shit!" I brought a hand to my chest and felt my heart beating like crazy. Whoever did that was gonna get beat up.
When I heard the most melodic laugh, that one I know oh so well, I finally looked up. Giving myself a big surprise.
