Some miracle probably happened while I was sleeping because I didn't wake up hangovered, I did wake up thirsty as hell, but no headache or body ache. A true birthday present for me. The only thing bothering me was that I couldn't avoid my parents on a weekend, especially if I woke up late, and I obviously did. Last night I got home at 2 am and really drunk, so I overslept.

I had to see Alex for lunch and it was already pretty late, so I dragged myself out of bed and crawled into the shower, drinking the hot water that fell on me to save time. When I came out I dressed pretty quick and dried my hair with a towell.

I stood in front of my door for a few minutes, debating if I should leave my house straight away or have breakfast with my parents. My dad was staying at my house until I graduated, my mum somehow allowed it and now I had to stand the man daily, but mainly when we had dinner, the rest of the time I stayed in my room... or Alex's room.

Well, I couldn't ignore my parents forever, not while I still lived there. I twisted the door knob and walked downstairs, not prepared enough for their faces.

''Morning,'' I sighed when I entered the kitchen, they were both there drinking tea.

''Morning? It's almost modnight, Miles,'' my dad laughed.

''Well, night then,'' I said having none of his shit.

I heard my mum sigh. ''Hey, there's some scrambled eggs there, they're probably cold by now but eat them if you want.'' She shrugged.

I nodded. ''Thanks.''

I went to make myself some toast. The air in the room was so thick and tense I could've choked.

''So, Miles, how're your mates? You haven't told me anything about them.'' My dad said nicely.

''You haven't asked.'' I whispered and turned around to face him. ''My best mate's called Julian, he's American, my other mate is called Damon, he's British. They both are lead singers in their own bands.'' I said proudly.

''Wow, that's great.'' He said wide-eyed. ''Do you have a band?''

''No. I don't really need one.''

He nodded and went back to his tea. I turned around again to make me some coffee.

''Are you going out?'' My mum asked after a few minutes of silence.

''Yeah.''

''Where?''

''Out.'' I smiply responded, grabbing my toast and my coffee to sit on the table. Starting to eat in silence, or trying.

''Is there a girl you're going to see?'' My dad said with a smile.

''No, dad, I'm gay.'' I sighed, I couldn't see his face but I'd bet his jaw dropped to the ground.

''Miles.'' My mum said sternly.

''What?'' I said with a bit of an attitude, I couldn't even eat in peace in my own house.

''Don't be rude.''

''I'm not being rude! I'm telling him stuff about me.''

She didn't objected, neither did my dad. I guess the true hits hard on some people.

Eventually I finished my breakfast but after such a stressing situation I only wanted to throw it up. I didn't though. I only went to my room to pick up some clothes and my charger to take to Alex's house, which was quickly becoming my new home. It was a lot nicer than my actual house.

I was about to go out the door when my dad called. That man was everywhere.

''Hey, son?''

''Yeah?'' I answered looking at him over my shoulder, trying not to come off as rude.
