Remembering those words hurt me deeply and the boys could tell. I really didn't want to talk about it but they knew something was off with me.

''And what did you tell him?'' Damon asked with shiny eyes. I hated making them worry about me.

I groaned loudly and ran my hands through my hair messily. ''I asked him if he was joking! And I didn't even let him talk, I just screamed at him the whole time!''

Damon sighed, fixing my hair softly. ''Oh, Miles...'' He had a sad expression on his face.

''You have to call him,'' Julian said. ''What's the last thing he said?''

''I don't know... He said he had to go and that he was really sorry but this was a huge opportunity and stuff like that. And then he just hung up,'' I shrugged.

''Mate, you definitely have to call him, he's probably hating himself right now,'' Damon said.

''Don't you think I know that? I just... I don't wanna talk to him.'' I sighed and took another cigarette out, lighting it under my jumper. It was a very windy day.

''Dude, why not?'' Julian asked, taking a drag of his own cig.

''Because...'' I started with my cig between my lips. ''What if this was the last straw and he breaks up with me? Or he says he wants to take a break? Or I don't know, what if he yells at me?''

''Miles, you two are practically married, he's not gonna break up with you,'' Damon said with a small smile.

I stayed silent. What if he was right? Alex wouldn't break up with me after all we had been through... But I still didn't want to talk to him, I was mad, not as much as when we talked on the phone but still pretty mad. He promised me it was only a month and now it's another week. And what if they start adding more and more shows just because he keeps agreeing? He clearly doesn't want to come back to me. He wants to be a rockstar.

''Whatever, I have to go.''

''But-''

''Sorry,'' I grabbed my bag and gave Damon a kiss on his hair. ''By, lads,'' I gave Julian a short hug that he barely had time to return and started walking to the bus stop.

Once I was there I took out my phone and started writing a text.

''want to hang?'' Sent.

I got on the bus when it stopped and sat on the first empty seat I could find. After a few minutes, my phone vibrated.

''sure, your place?''  It read.

''yeah :)x''

I put on my headphones and started playing my sad playlist for the rest of the trip.

When I got to the house I could only think of the sympathetic smile the doorman gave me. Do I look so miserable?

I threw my things on the couch and started to tidy up a bit. I washed the dishes, threw out the garbage, and took the many items of clothes laying in the living room to the bedroom. When I was done, my phone vibrated again.

''omw x''

A smile formed in my face as I fell on the couch. I stayed there for a while when suddenly my eyes started to feel heavy. Lately I had been sleepier than usual, I didn't know what it was...

"Shit!" I exclaimed as the door bell rang repeatedly. I got up and went to answer without even checking myself in the mirror.

"Napping, were we?" A grinning Noel said when I opened the door, walking past me and inside the house.
