About the time I show up at his door and my knuckles are inches away from the dark wood, as usual, every single doubt comes to my mind to fuck up my great mood. It's like a tradition, when something too good to be true happens to me, I can't stop thinking about the infinite posibilities that can come. In moments like these they're usually negative. And knowing this was my first date ever, made everything harder. What if I do something that you're not supposed to do? What if he gets bored? What if someone see us?
I rested my back on the wall behind me, starting my breathing exercises to clear up my mind. My palms were sweating so I rubbed them against my jeans. I spent all morning cheering myself up about this situation, I couldn't back away now. I was awake since 8 am and the time went painfully slow, I kept glancing at the clock every 5 seconds to see if it was time. I just wanted this moment to come, now I had to make it worth it, to give this man the best date ever. A memorable one.
My eyes traveled to my new favorite number, 505 was in front of me, waiting paciently. I sent Aly a text at noon saying I was going to be there at 2:30, now it was 2:37 because I couldn't stop thinking. I was late because I was being selfish. It was enough, I couldn't do that to him, not him.
Before regretting it I elongated my arm and pressed his doorbell -the one I didn't noticed before- once, just for a short second. The door opened almost instantly, making it seem like he was waiting for me to be brave enough. When I looked up my world changed.
There he was, the most stunning and angelical man, looking as dazzling as ever. No, much more.
He was dressed with black jeans a bit less tight than mine, a french blue shirt, and a black and white bandana around his neck. His soft hair was wet and pushed back. He was also wearing black boots and the end of his jeans were rolled up. I was two steps of getting down on one knee.
"Miles Kane," he said with that familiar smirk of his. I swallowed hard at his rough voice.
"You look... So good." I exagerated the last two words by accident but it was just how I felt. I looked at him up and down with a grin, I was so lucky to be in front of this masterpiece.
He chuckled and looked down, as more and more we saw eachother he got more shy and nervous around me, and honestly, it made me feel great, like I'm not the only one admiring the other so much. "You look really good too darling," he smiled, walking closer to get a hold of my waist and kiss my cheek sweet and shortly. I blushed hard unable to control a shaky laugh. That particular pretty word echoing inside my head: darling.
"A-Are you ready?" I asked in a small voice, trying to not make him feel pressured.
"Yeah! Just let me grab my jacket."
He turned around and almost ran inside his house, I could hear his feet sliding on the floor and a second later he was in front of me with a leather jacket hanging from his shoulder. I was still shocked about the current situation so I barely realized what just happened."Ready now?" I asked with a small nod.
"Never been more ready," he said in a stupid voice. I loved when he did that, even though I always roll my eyes at him, I always do it smiling.
"Cool. Let's go," I started walking towards the elevator and he followed. It felt good being by his side but also terrible, I didn't know how to act at all. Should I hold his hand?
I honestly had a whole thing planned for the date, I wanted to take him out for pizza because I loved pizza but I didn't know if he did... I also, and obviously, didn't know what kind of pizza he liked. I didn't know anything about hid food taste. And I didn't wanted to ask, if he said no to the pizza I would jump out the window.
