When he got down from the bus I followed close behind, trying to be discret and not make any sudden noise or move. He started walking under the rain, faster and faster, enough for me to lose him from sight for a while when he turned around the corner, but I knew I could catch him again if I was fast enough. Yes, I knew where he lived and it was still a few blocks away.
Something weird about this was he didn't brought his car to school, I was still thinking about it. He definitely didn't check the news today because it said it was gonna be a shitty weather.
After a few minutes it started raining even more heavily, I was soaked wet and freezing under the dark clouds. It was also getting late, at least for me, it was school night, but nothing was gonna stop me. I needed to reach him, to tell him. He has to know. I love him and he should know, it doesn't matter what happens.
I kept walking under the rain, I was finnally able to see him, he was almost running because he didn't have an umbrella either. He looked like he just took a shower, his long hair was all messy and wet as it fell close to his shoulders, he looked like heaven...
We were getting closer to his house and I was runing out of time. I kept cursing under my breath, this was a bad idea from the beginning. I was too scared to talk to him but I knew I had to, I talk to him a lot but now it was so different, it just made me nervous to think about his reaction. What if he gets mad? Or disgusted? Or what if he calls my parents? I don't know why he would do that but whatever.
My head snapped at him when I heard the sound of keys; he was playing with them in one hand and as I looked around I realised we were two houses away. I checked my pockets for money so I could go back home but there was nothing.
Shit, now I was obliged to talk to him. Might as well just say it.
He walked towards the gate of his huge building and I was hit with reality, so hard that my hands started shaking.
You have to, you have to, you have to.
I could feel the cold sweat forming on my forehead and probably every part of my body. He was opening the gate, oh lord... Just do it you bloody chicken!
"M-Mister Turner!" I practically screamed, followed by me covering my mouth in embarassment. The cars were loud and the rain even louder, don't judge me.
My breathing stopped when he turned around and looked at me scared, my eyes were wider than ever. He was frowning as he was trying to recognize me, there weren't many lights around us. "Miles Kane? Is that you?" He asked unsure with his beautiful accent. I took off my hood and nodded, making him walk closer. "Oh hey, what are you doing here young lad?" He sounded concerned, and shocked. His tone made me feel strange, he felt like a... teacher, like an adult, like we weren't as close as I thought.
I sighed and took a deep breath. "Sorry sir but I needed to tell you something important." My voice was weak and I was struggling to get the words out. I needed to talk, if I kept thinking it through I was definitely gonna blow it.
"Oh really? What is it?" He asked nicely, smiling at me. I was happy he wasn't scared or bothered by my presence, I mean, it was raining and it was late at night. He was obviously tired.
I started playing with my sleeves nervously, trying to breathe calmly so I could talk. "I-I..." I scratched my head, pulled my hair and I was feeling extremely hot. After a few seconds of trying I realized I was getting nowhere and I was looking like a fool in front of him, might as well give up. Maybe the driver would let me get in the bus without paying...
"Are you okay? What is wrong?" He asked softly and put his hand on my shoulder, squeezing it softly and looking directly into my eyes. The rain was getting calmer now and so was I, just by feeling his touch. I swallowed hard and looked up at his eyes. Come on Mi, you can do this. You came all the way here just for this, you got this. You've been waiting for so long...
