Don't Leave The Window Open

Point of no return

That night after I finished my homework which was boring as ever I did my routine of closing blinds and locking doors. Right before I finished closing the blinds I heard a knock on my bedroom door and a voice saying,

"Mary open the door it's Jack I need to see something."

"One second." I called out to him.

I walked over to the door to unlock it and let Jack in. Before I could even open the door all the way Jack pushed open the door and ran to my window.

"Jack what the hell!" I yelled at him.

" I'm opening the window don't look incase their is something out there."

I shut my eyes and silently regretting listening to Jack.

"Just what I thought." Jack said as he closed the blinds.

"what?" I ask curiously.

"there's scratch marks on the glass of the window and also the frame." He told me turning around to face me. "did you hear anything last night scratching, tapping anything like that."

"Actually yeah I woke up around three in the morning to scratching and tapping on my window." I told Jack.

"I think the thing that took dad is trying to get in your room to kidnap and kill you." Jack looked at me with concern in his eyes.

At that moment I realized even with the locked doors and windows that no one is safe especially me.
