After the more than awkward conversation at school I was happy to be home away from all of the gossip. I'm curled up on my bed debating if I should open the journal Dean found, I decided to go ahead and read it because either way I was going to have to read it.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
After about two hours I had finished reading the journal. The only helpful thing was two pages at the end about Wendigo. It said they are associated with starvation and death. The only way to kill them was with fire, it also said they liked to live in dark damp places.

With this new information I decided to go to the library and try to find Dean. I threw on jeans a black shirt and my favorite flannel. Then put my hair in a back braid and ran out the door. As I was going to leave I heard Jack call me from the living room.
"Mary where are you going?"

"To the library I have a paper to write." I lied hoping he would let me go.

"Okay. Be home for lunch okay." He called out after me.

Once I got to the library Dean was no where to be seen. All of the staff was somehow missing which was pretty odd because Mrs. Tiller always sat up front ready to scold anyone who broke even the smallest rule. Not even the usual student studying for a exam was present in the main room. All of the lights were still on which meant someone had to be here.

I wandered into the employees only section looking into each room as I went. Halfway down the hallway I heard the faint sound of music coming from the very last door on the left. As I got closer I could finally make out the song it was my favorite "High way to Hell" by AC/DC. Call me old but it is actually really good. Inside the room Dean was sitting at the conference room table studying what seemed to be an old history book. My brain was telling me to leave and let him keep studying or whatever he was doing but I knocked on the open door anyway. He turned around quickly.

" Mary what are you doing here I was just finishing some research on the Wendigo." Dean said as he went to turn the music down.

"Umm... well I couldn't wait to read the journal so this morning I started flipping through it and found out a way to kill the Wendigos." I say pulling the book out of my bag.

" Where does it say how to kill these sons of bitches?" Dean says as you hand him the opened book.

"Right here. Second paragraph down two sentences in."

"Fire? That means getting near them at night. They could kill us." Dean says shutting the book and placing it in the table. "It's to risky we will find     another way."

"There is no other way. It's this or the whole town being killed by these things." I say trying to hold back my anger. Dean had no clue how bad this really was. He was new and had only experienced a little of the Hell that was our town.

" Fine but if this doesn't work the first time we are doing it my way." Dean says as he walks over to put away his books.

"Deal." I say to Dean as I gather my things to leave.
