On the walk back Dean got worse he couldn't walk very well and he was loosing more blood. We only had a little ways left to go, if we could just get out of the woods we would be okay.

"Only a little bit further Dean, hang in there. You'll be okay, I promise." I say not believing myself.

I was planning on becoming a doctor after school and even and idiot would know he had lost too much blood. By the look of it he probably has lost around two litters of blood and it just kept coming.

He could barely walk and I was basically dragging him through the woods tryin to get help as fast as I could. There was no service so I couldn't call anyone. Dean's breathing was starting to become fast and shallow. I stop to check his pulse trying to figure out what to do. It was very weak.

I knew he didn't have much time left without medical attention so I went even faster. My body forgetting about the ache in my arms and legs adrenaline kicking in.

Finally I saw a break in the trees, by this time it was six in the morning so people should be awake. I started screaming for help walking even faster than before.

I lay Dean down on the sidewalk trying to stop the bleeding. I took of my jacket pressing it onto his sides. The jacket was soaked in a matter of minutes.

Pulling out my phone I called Jack telling him to call an ambulance. He of course freaked out asking me where I was. I explained everything to him trying not to cry.

Jack showed up and soon after an ambulance, a crowd had gathered around us, like vultures swarming around a dead deer.

They took Dean away refusing to let Jack and I ride with them.

"Mary what the hell." Jack asked sadly.

"We killed the wendigos, all of them. It wasn't supposed to happen like this. I dragged him through the woods, I...I..." I broke down crying in Jacks arms.

I was covered in blood, and dirt but I didn't care nor did he. Jack held me for what seemed like ages.

The drive to the hospital seemed to take forever, it was as if time slowed after Dean was taken away. All the building blurring into one. Mary's tear stained face reflecting back at her in the window. Jack drove silently still trying to understand what they were doing in the woods.

"I still don't understand, why did you do it?" Jack spoke breaking the silence.

"I did it for dad, for mom.... for you. We lost everything because of those things. Dean said it would work..... He said we would be okay." She sputtered out in-between sobs.

Jack still trying to understand what Mary was saying sat in silence for the rest of the ride, digesting what he was just told.

Pulling up to the hospital after an agonizingly long drive, Mary jumped out of the car the minute it was parked and ran inside.

Arriving at the nurses station in the ER she frantically asked "Where is Dean Winchester, he was brought in on an ambulance.... I need to see him!"

The nurse just pointed to a row of chairs on the wall across from her desk saying " Sit there and wait."

Hours went by before a women in scrubs and a surgical gown walked over to the desk. The woman and nurse exchanged a few words in a hushed tone, until the nurse pointed over at Mary.

The woman approached Mary asking if she was here for Dean Winchester, although she already knew the answer was yes.

"Yes! Umm.... how is he, you have to tell me he's okay." Mary exclaimed a bit too rushed.

The womans face seemed to show no emotion, her eyes softened thought when Mary spoke. "I'm sorry.... Dean suffered from massive blood loss due to his wounds. We stitched him up and got him more blood, we thought he was going to make it but he coded, we suspect it was from the stress his heart experienced. We did everything we could but I'm sorry to say that he didn't make it."

Mary still in her blood soaked clothing broke down, but she didn't cry she had no tears left to cry. Instead she got up going to find Dean, not believing what the doctor said. She ran through the doors the woman came out of, but she didn't make it far. Her body finally gave in to the lack of sleep and the adrenaline rush finally wore off, she passed out in the middle of the hall. The last thing she saw was Dean's body covered in a sheet being wheeled past her to the morgue.
