Rileigh's POV

Great, the reaping. I thought, where family kills family. Friend's slaughter friends. Why do we do this?

This all went through my head as I walked into Olympus with Victor. Olympus was HUGE. When we walked in there where two pedestals. I guess they were for the bowls with our names in them.

"Are you alright?" Victor asked. He looked.... well not him self. He looked paler than he did before he left and scrawnier. "Yeah. I am. What about you?" I replied. He shook his head and there was complete silence. Then we came to a door.

We walked through them and it was not as quiet as I thought. It was quite loud. Some people were crying, some arm wrestling, and some being plain loud. The person who brought us took us to the section for Zeus Demigods. Then the doors opened as we stood there. It was Nathaniel and Natalie. Nathaniel was puffy eyes and his face was red. Natalie on the other hand looked like she wanted to kill everyone already.

I got their attention and waved. Natalie waved back but Nathaniel cried even more. The doors opened again. It was Lexi. She looked like she been through a car crash. Her face was bloodied and her dress was shredded. She also had a black eye. The guy that brought her in looked like he had been through a lot too. His leg was bloody and so was his bloodied.

I guess everyone was there because Dad, Zeus, appeared. "Hello, Demigods and welcome to the 75th demigod games!" He boomed. He looked like he was waiting for an applause but he didn't get it. "The 12 of us," he gestured behind him and 11 more gods and goddesses appeared. "Will be choosing one male and one female to compete. But before we do we are going to see the past winners!"

A big screen also appeared from nowhere. Then the anthem started playing. The first picture was a winner from a few years ago. It was Will Solace the son of Apollo. Next, it was a female. She had grey eyes and blonde hair. She looked like Annabeth. She won last year. Leo appears. There was a giggle from the Aphrodite part. He won the year before last. Finally, last year's winner, Kennedy Pierce. She is the daughter of Heaphustus. She has a younger sister, Kelsey, also the daughter of Heaphustus. Kennedy will only fight again if her brother is picked. There were a few more people that I had no clue who they were.

The screen disappeared. "Now it is time for us to draw." Two glass bowls appeared. "For the male demigod to represent me is...." He drew a piece of paper and paused for a dramatic effect. "Jake Stone!" A kid with blonde hair and bluish grey eyes started to walk up. "I volunteer!" Someone yelled. I turned to see who it was. "We have a volunteer!" Zeus chided. The person walked up. When I fought a glimpse of the guy I almost cried. "What is your name?" Zeus asked. "Victor Cornatelli." He said. "Everybody give him a round of applause. There was very little applauding. "Okay, now on to the female tribute...." He did the same thing for dramatic effect. "This will be interesting. Rileigh Cornatelli!" I stood there shocked. Then I found the courage to move. I walked to the platform. "Shake hands. To greet each other even though you might not need to."

As we shook hands Victor mouthed the word. Sympathy. It was to late for volunteers though so there was no point.

Corey's pov

I was not happy with this. I am one of the few boys that is the son Poseidon. Even worse I had more of a chance to be picked. My name was in the drawing five times. While the kid sitting next to me was 12 and his name was only in there once.

My dad walked up to the pedestals. "Hello!" He boomed. "I am Poseidon. Now that we know who I am. It is time to pick my tributes." He waves his hand and two bowls appeared.

"I will choose male demigod first." He moved over to the bowl with my name in it. He picked a paper. "Corey Smith!" He said. I looked around to see if I heard him right. But everyone stared back at me. I walked up to the platform. It was weird standing there with everyone staring at me. "Somebody please volunteer." I mumbled. But nobody did. Dad walked to the other bowl.

"The female tribute is....... Addisyn Calloni!" He boomed. Great, I thought. My bestfriend is coming into the games with me. Addisyn walked up to the stage without hesitation. She stood on the opposite side of Poseidon. "Shake hands." She stuck her hand out and I took it. I was on the verge of tears but I kept it together.
