"For someone who doesn't have a job, you seem pretty damn happy, chica," Mickey said, handing me a glass of water. I'm over by her place since we've barely had time to meet up with each other. Apparently, Bre and Blaine's brother, Blake, hit it off so well that he whisked her back to the U.K for an entire week almost right after Blaine and I left for Florida. Luckily, she had saved up plenty of vacation days to even go. She'll be here soon to give us all the details. And Mickey, her art has been her focus, so I can fully understand the need to create.
I get a pinch of heartache at the fact that I've not been at work for nearly two weeks, but I've kept myself busy. Helping Blaine plan the event has been a healthy distraction. And little bit of us fucking like sex-crazed bunnies went in the mix as well. I blushed from how drastic the direction of my thoughts have changed.
"Yeah." I sighed dreamily. Blaine pushed me out of my dejected state and pushed me to work through the struggle of my problem. I've even had the courage to write a blog post about Key West. My mind was at complete ease from then on.
"So love-sick." She shook her head. "When will I ever?"
"What happened with Luke? You guys didn't hit it off?" I wondered. Ever since that night at the club, I've been meaning to ask her. Everyone could tell she was standoffish at the sight of Luke, especially towards the end of that night.
"That man's a playboy at heart." Her face twisted in a small scowl. "I mean, we clicked and everything, but I'm busy enough as it is. Plus, he lives in freakin' California. There's no good in a long distance relationship, especially with the line-up of women he must have." Ahh, bingo. Her face drops as she says the words.
Mickey can fool anyone. Trust me, I know. But she's an open book when it comes to men. The men just don't ever see this side of her. When it comes to love, she shuts it down completely. I have a hunch that since Luke is in the picture, her attitude will change. Hell, it's starting to now.
"Well, a little birdy told me that he'll be back for the Rising Stars of NYC event, which is tomorrow," I hint, giving her the side-eye. Blaine said he's flying in the day of just because, but I'm pushing towards the fact that he wants to see her again. Guaranteed.
She shrugged carelessly, but the small smile that appears on her face clearly means she cares more than she's allowing herself to. We promptly heard a knock on the door and a loud shout.
"Open the door, Mickey!" Bre yelled. "I have souvenirs!"
"This puta, getting free trips to London," Mickey playfully glared at the door. I laughed as she went to the door to open it. Bre was glowing, her smile bright and shining at us. Her hands were full of gift bags.
"How are my best friends in the whole wide world doing?" She asked, sounding perky as ever. "What have I missed?"
"Adrienne and Blaine finally fucked," Mickey responded as nonchalant as ever, closing her door. All I could do was slap my hand against my forehead in timidity. She fits the definition to the word 'blunt' to a T.
"Finally! Get you some of that Harrington dick. Had a little taste of it myself." Bre smirked, sitting down next to me. "Look at us, sexing with some fine ass brothers."
"I can't disagree with that. How was the trip?"
Her eyes light up at the mention of it. "Amazing. He took me to see Big Ben, the London Aquarium, Madame Tussauds, that wax figure place, and some others."
"And, tell me how in the world a trip to London even happened?" I'm sure as hell ready to hear this.
"He was leaving a few days after our get together and out of the blue just asked me," she stated, eyes wide. "I wasn't going to give that type of trip up with a sexy man like him, so of course I got my shit together and we're on the next flight over there." Almost sounds like a fairytale.
