10.Wrapped Around Your Finger

"What took you so long anyway?"

"Uh, I was just helping Madison do some gardening." All Tyler got in response were disbelieving stares. "What? She enjoys it, okay?"

Josh stood up. "Please tell me her garden isn't square-shaped. Please."

Before Tyler could answer, Jenna spoke "Dun, is that a drumstick in your pocket or are you just happy to see us?"

She probably likes him and he must feel the same way, that's why they always tease each other. Oh well...they'll be lucky to have each other.

Josh blushed, which surprised Tyler since the red-haired boy wasn't one to be embarrassed easily. "It is a drumstick," he mumbled. "Hey, I thought maybe we could sing a couple of songs before the concert!"

They were going to see Muse at Washington D.C, a concert the boys had been excited about for months. The thought of the concert had filled Tyler with hope for so many moths. Muse were very special to him. Luckily, Josh shared his love for the band. Jenna and Hermione were tagging along and Tyler didn't mind, he loved their company and they did like Muse too anyway.

They were all at Josh's place, hanging around until it was time to get started on their five-hour road trip to the concert venue.

"Uh sure, friend," Tyler beamed, "let me grab my guitar."

also do you want to murder your friends with that screechy voice of yours?]

It will be okay, we'll all sing together and it will be okay. If Josh is willing to sing, then so can I.

"For people like us, a life without music is death," Josh said, looking at Tyler.

"Oh please...that sounds like you got it from an anime," Hermione rolled her eyes at him.

"As a matter of fact, I did!" Josh confirmed. "So what?"

"Nothing, it just seems very pretentious...you know, even for you," Jenna, who was behind the wheel, called.

They had decided to have a kind of competition in who could recall the best quote about music and artists. It didn't prove to be a great idea, considering how competitive Josh and Hermione tend to get but they were bored out of their minds so they didn't have many other options either. Washington D.C. was still 3 hours away.

"Wait, I got it!" Jenna exclaimed. "Are you ready for this, kids?"

"Shoot it."

"Okay, here it goes: 'Loving a band with all your heart is something you understand when it happens to you. On the surface, others can see it's a petty obsession, but they'll just never know the feeling of putting so much faith into a few people on the other side of the world. It's hard to explain it to them, the listening to a song after song on repeat, the waits for new albums, the excitement and surreal sensation when you finally see them live. They don't understand why the lyric books give you a sense of comfort, or why you paste photos of them on your bedroom walls. And they can't understand why one band could matter to you so much. And you think to yourself 'Because they saved my life'. But you say nothing, because they wouldn't understand',"

Josh and Hermione groaned.

"Damn..." Tyler whispered. "Kellin Quinn?" She's brilliant...

"Alex Gaskarth," she replied.

"Okay, you win this time!" Josh cried out."Just wait until it's karaoke time."
