Gianna

"Gia? Is it really you?" His surprised voiced asked me. I nodded my head but stopped when I realized he couldn't see me nodding.

"It is Damien, it's me." I said through the phone, my voice coming out in a whisper. For a second, I thought he had hung up, but then he spoke.

"You have no idea how much I missed you Ge!" He exclaimed, as I smiled and laughed. It had been a long time since I had talked to Damien.

"I missed you too!" I told him, a genuine smile spreading across my face.

"But that's not the reason I called," I told him, not bothering to beat around the bush.

He sighed, "Look Gia, if you think you owe me anything, you don't. It was years ago, and you helped me out more than I helped you. If anything-"

"Damien, I need help this time." I exclaimed, as I told him the story. I explained to him about Max's accident, and how the bill was a lot and how I was working my ass off to pay off everything, and since I had to pay off the bills, I was going into debt. I told him about my asshole landlord and how if I didn't pay it again

I could hear Damien thinking over the phone.

"I'll help you, but on one condition," He said over the phone.

"What is it?" I questioned him.

"If I help you out with the money problem, you have to move in with me until you are stable enough to move out!" He spoke, as my eyes widened.

"What!? Is this another way to get us to go out again?" I questioned him, my voice hinting with amusement. I could hear him chuckled over the phone.

"No!"

"Damien?" I spoke, using my best stern voice. I knew he would eventually give in, being the big softie he was.

"Maybe! But really, I haven't seen you in like fourteen years Ge. You were my best friend and my girlfriend!" He told me as I sighed and remember how I was before everything changed.

"Give me about an hour to think about it, and I will call you back!" I told him, as we said our goodbye's. With everything taking a toll on me, I hadn't realized how much I had missed Damien.

When I had left home, I had to leave him too. At the time, he was one of the only people who stood by me while all the shit went down.

No I had realized, maybe it would be good to see my best friend and once my boyfriend. We had known each other since we were thirteen, when he moved to Idaho.

We at first, hated each other. It was like this until we were fifteen, then we started to like each other, in a friendly way. It wasn't until we turned sixteen when we realized it was more than that, and one thing lead to another, and we were going out.

I didn't want to just leave the life I built here and move to Idaho. I had friends here, and memories with my kids. The last time we moved was very stressful, considering the circumstances I was under.

It really sucked ass.

But we needed the money, and I needed to pay everything off. I would have to sell the apartment and quit my job to move. If I sold the apartment, maybe it would be enough to pay the bills?

Oh who am I kidding, we needed the help. My kids were not going to be homeless because of me. I knew they would not be fans of saying goodbye to their friends, but it would have to be done if it meant us being debt free and in a house or whenever Damien lives.

I called Damien back up about an hour later, thinking about the decision.

He wasted no time picking up.

"So what's it gonna be Gigi?" He asked me. I smiled at the old, but annoying nickname he gave me.

"Why do you call me that!? God, I hate that name!" I exclaimed, as he laughed again. His laugh made me smile, it was contagious.

"I'm going to keep calling you that no matter what you say Gigi!" He told me as I rolled my eyes.

"I'm gonna say yes, I'm coming back to Idaho," I told him.

Any predictions on Gianna's past?

And did anyone else feel bad for poor Max last chapter? I kinda based his character, with the asthma and food allergies, off of my sister. My sister actually always had asthma and food allergies when she was little.

Thanks for reading! Ily guys 💓💓
