GiannaAfter the encounter, it took a long time to calm down. Damien could calm me a little but the fear was still within me. Despite his best efforts, I couldn't be calmed.
Things eventually grew calmer when we went to the police station to report him. But there was nothing that could be done since he hadn't actually came to take my children away. All we could do was file a report and that was it.
Even though he was still out there, I kept a closer eye on my children. That asshole better think twice before hurting any of my children.
Months eventually passed and now it was in the middle of May, around the kids last week of school. Damien and I had officially gotten together in April, so we were dating now. Over the months, I have started talking to my siblings more and more since the children often went to play at their houses. They even stopped by my house a few times. The only one who still won't talk to me is dad and I've gotten used to it by now.
I was getting out of work late today and Damien had to go on a business trip for a few days, so it was just the four of us at the house. Because of my overtime shift, Aspen and Max would be going to Casey's house with Shay's kids. Blake and my nephew Gavin would be going to a friend's birthday party. Shay offered to drive them and I couldn't say no since I had worked.
Anyways, now I owe my siblings one for taking care of my children.
All three of them were at school since it was only ten a.m. I would have to pick them all up at around ten in the afternoon since I would be working late.
Max
Our class was walking to the auditorium to watch the fifth-graders graduate. All of the elementary school was allowed to see them graduate, including us.
"Boys and girls, get into two straight lines. Now, when we go to the auditorium no one is allowed to act crazy during this time and everyone will be as silent as a mouse, got it?" She said as we all nodded.
As we walked in two straight lines, I looked around to see if I could see Aspen. With no such luck, I sighed as we arrived at the auditorium.
The whole place was decorated with streamers and balloons and a small podium at the front of the stage. Our teacher lead us to the rows we're sitting at. I spotted Aspen, who went to go sit with our cousin, Emmi.
"Hey Aspen!" I yelled, waving across the auditorium. Her eyes caught mine and Aspen waved back to me. Her teacher came by and started yelling how she wasn't in the right row.
Aspen
"Aspen, what are you doing here!?" My teacher yelled as the two forth grade classes and others looked at me with surprise. A normal person would be embarrassed, but I didn't care about that.
"I came to sit with my cousin, is that a problem?" I sassed the teacher.
"Yes that is a problem, now go back to your seat." She demanded.
"Fine, you don't need to be a buzzkill about it, Ms.Debby Downer!" I mumbled, as she made some comment on how I was rude and that if I kept this act up I would be visiting the dean's office. Eh, I would be seeing Emmi later since we were all going to Uncle Casey's house.
As the graduation started, everyone became silent as we watched the fifth-grade class walk in and perform some songs. That would be our class next year and I was excited to leave this stupid school and go to middle school.
