Note: My view on Ikari is purely based on Fanfic by you guys. I haven't watched sinnoh AT ALL so excuse if this one-shot sucks.

Paul's PoV

I stand at the near the door watching the lights flash as the others dance in their couples- Gary and Leaf, May and Drew, Iris and Cilan, Serena and Clemont, and Misty trying to get Ash away from the food table.

They all had couples. All of them, just not me. It might not make sense to others, that a guy like me wouldn't have a girlfriend, or at least someone in mind. Well, actually there is, sort of. Only there's another one with me in mind. She's the kind I despise- smothered in make-up, long glittery false nails, over-glittery lips- I swear her hair is dyed, not natural like she tries to pretend. Or at least a wig. Or an extension. She's like a hundred of those horrid rainbow-haired barbie dolls mashed together. She keeps trying to get close to me, while I keep trying to run away from her.

When I said I had someone in mind, it's definitely not her. It's someone who nobody would probably notice if you asked them to pick her from a crowd of 150 people.

Her name is Dawn, but there's nothing in her appearance to suggest the reason for naming her. Blue hair, Blue eyes- It was her personality that did it. Like the sun at dawn. So annoying, yet charming at the same time, and full of trouble- one of the reasons why I call her troublesome.

I was kinda hoping she would be here, or rather, I was hoping weeks ago that she would ask me to go with her, which was weird because I don't like making friends and I don't like dances. But it was already weird enough that I didn't mind her.

"Paul?"

I whipped my head round. She was there, in front of me, wearing her usual outfit with piplup at her side.

"Troublesome." i grunted. "Why aren't you with them guys?" I nodded toward the rest of her friend group.

"Don't feel like it, I guess." she sighed.

"that's not like you."

"It's not like you to even show up at the dance party."

"Well, you were coming."

I tried to sound as normal as possible. She was at it again, making me feel like... like this. Ugh.

"Paul?"

"Hey, prunehead, you there?"

I was jerked out of my thoughts.

"I just asked you a question." Dawn pouted.

"Still troublesome as ever." I half-smiled at her.

"Paul?"

"yeah?"

"Will you go to the dance party with me?"

I'd been waiting forever for this.

"Yes."
