A dance. Ok, so I had to get a date. Wait, a dance?!?!
"Yes, a dance." Replied Iris, annoyed.
"A dance before the the summer holidays." Said May.
"Bet anything we have to get a date to go." Said Misty. "I bet Gary is going to try and get the girl first."
"Speaking of Gary, doesn't he have a super big crush on you?" Squealed May.
"W-what?!?!" Yelped Misty, blushing.
"Uh-huh, he even let Leaf go with Red because he had "someone special" in mind!" I said. I loved joining in romance conversations like this, even though my own love life wasn't something to boast about. For instance, Ash... Even though Miette keeps teasing me about how she's going to make a move if I don't, I know she isn't the slightest bit interested in Ash, and that she secretly likes Trip... (A/N- HAHA MY SECRET WEAPON THINK OF A SHIP NAME FOR ME QUICK) And he secretly liked her back. Which meant there was only one obstacle in my way... My nerve.
Everyone else pretty much had a confirmed date- Gary was definitely asking Misty, Dawn and Paul, May and Drew, Leaf and Red, Iris had Cilan, Shauna and Calem, Miette and Trip- even Bianca had been asked by Barry after they'd crashed into each other for the millionth time. I'm the only one who hasn't made a move yet... And I know Ash barely notices when girls try to say that they like him.
"Hey, uh, Serena? If you keep walking straight ahead you'll bump into that wall." Came an all too familiar voice.
Black hair, brown eyes, a pokeball cap- As I'd expected, Ash Ketchum was right in front of me.
"A-Ash!" I stammered. Oh arceus. I'd been trying to avoid him for ages... So much for keeping calm. he always manages to turn me into a blushing, stuttering mess. "W-why are you-"
"oh, well, I really want to go to the dance party but I don't have a date..."
"Ash..."
"And I was thinking... I mean, everyone else is pretty much taken, so I was thinking of asking... You."
Omg. Omg omg omg omg omg omg OMG!!!!! I internally screamed. Outside, I was blushing furiously.
"So, Serena- Do you want to come with me to the dance party?"
"Yes!"
