A/N: first time doing this... XxQueenJeannexX tell me if I did it wrong
I've been sitting outside for some time now, with my best friend Gardevia. I call her Devi because her name was too long. Long but beautiful. Short but sweet, the kind I like. She was named for the pokemon and she was like the Pokemon, almost as if she was a human version of one. (A/N course she is DUH)
I felt her hand on my shoulder as I stare at the darkening sky.
"bagsies the last sandwich." She laughed.
"Hey!" I swipe at her lightly, and she giggled. Devi was always there to make me smile. My mom used to tell me all the time that I should be getting a girlfriend soon and she suggested Devi, but I said no because I knew she'd never agree. I know I wouldn't. She was my best friend and like my little sister.
"Come on!" She drags me by the sleeve and onto a softer patch of grass where we sat and watched, her head on my shoulder. "Now you tell me if there's any Bug or Ghost types out there."
She'd always hated them, and Dark types. I guess it was because her specialty Psychic type was weak to them.
The sky was purple-blue and dark as my eyes, as she would say. My eyes weren't soft blue like May's, they were dark like the midnight sky, almost black with a hint of grey.
A twinkle in the sky. Stars. The girls at my school always said me and Devi should get together, and we would be the brightest stars in the galaxy of Petalburg High. But I've never felt about any girl like Drew told me how he felt about May. Not even Devi.
I looked down at her; she was half asleep. I picked up a lock of her soft green hair and rubbed it between my fingers. Everyone thought she was Drew's sister, but I'd always say no, she was my sister. Does your best friend count as your sister?
I began braiding her hair. I told her once that she'd look cute in braids, and she'd stuck her tongue out at the thought. She did look cute. He normal hair was only about shoulder length and these were shorter, like I'd seen Lyra and Kris'. I couldn't resist pulling them, though I know I shouldn't.
"Hey." She batted my hand away.
"You know, little sis, you really look cute in braids."
"Shut up. And I'm not your little sis."
"Really?" I grinned at her.
"Whatever you say, bro."
