Ugh. Why was he so dense? Couldn't he plainly see that I liked him? I've stopped trying to deny it now, and he still doesn't notice! Why do you have to be this dense, Ash Ketchum?
Brock had called all of us to get together at Ash's- Him, Ash, Me, May, Dawn, Iris, Serena, Bonnie, Mad, Clemont, Cilan, Paul, Drew, Gary and Tracey. For absolutely no reason. Well, there was one- Ash had finally come back from Kalos. I just hope he hasn't gotten another girl to replace me.
"Hey Misty!" said May, as I walked in with Azurill.
"Where's Ash?" I ask. "Oh, he's over there." she points over to where the living room is. I walked over, my heart pounding. I'm pretty sure he hasn't replaced me yet...Right?
Wrong.
He's sitting there, talking and laughing with another girl next to him. The girl has short wavy honey-blonde hair, but not too short, so that it still looks cute. She had light blue eyes, and wore a pink dress with a white collar and a darker pink hat with a bow on it. Just the type every guy would fall for.
I tried not to hate her just yet. Maybe she wasn't his girlfriend, or someone he liked. I decided to listen for a while. it was all normal conversation, until she said, "Ash... Do you have someone special in your life, apart from your family?"
For once I wished Ash was still dense. But he wasn't.
"I think you're something real special, Serena." he answered back, smiling. I hated that smile now. Why did he have to say that? But still, that was something you could say to a friend, not just a crush. I decided to make my appearance.
"Hi Ash!" I said. "Azu!" said Azurill.
"Uh... who are you?" Ash asked. I slapped my forehead. Why, why did he have to be this dense?
"Ash, that's Misty! She traveled with us at first, remember?" Brock said.
"Oh, yeah... The girl with the togepi." Ash frowned, trying to remember some more. "...What's your name again."
I felt shocked. Utterly shocked. He forgot my name. He had a new girlfriend something, and forgot I existed. To him, I was only 'the girl with the togepi who followed him around because she wanted her bike back'. Only he didn't remember the last part.
Tears threatened to spill over. I held them back, but it wouldn't be long before they came out. I stared at him, and stood there, frozen. Then I ran.
I ran out of the room.
"Misty, what's wrong?" Dawn asked but I ignored her.
I ran inside the bathroom, sat down, and locked the door. And then the tears came out.

Ash's PoV
I looked round, confused.
"Where did she go?" I asked.
Gary slapped me. "Ash, she used to be your best friend! She's probably really sad that you forgot about her."
"Sad? Why?" I asked again.
Gary sighed in exasperation. "Wouldn't you be sad if your best friend forgot about you?"
"Uh, I guess..."
"Then go and get her so he can stop being sad!"
"Alright!" I yelled.
***
Misty's PoV.
I don't know how long I was in there, but it was a long time. I got my tears dried and my face generally back to normal. No red eyes, no puffy face. having those was one of the reasons I hated crying.
"Misty..." May began.
"Misty, ignore the dense rock!" said Iris. "He's such a little kid!"
I ignored both of them.
"Misty?" Someone tapped me on the shoulder.
"May, Dawn, Iris, go away." I snapped.
"It's not May, Dawn or Iris." I turned round. Ash.
"Why do you care?" I half-yelled at him.
"Uh... Gary said I should so..."
Ugh. Still dense.
"You're so dense, Ash." I whispered.
"Yeah, you used to keep telling me that." he replied. My eyes widened. He remembered me?
"You never actually knew, did you?" I asked.
"Knew what?"
"Knew that..." I blushed furiously at this. "That I liked you. A lot."
"Well, I guess I didn't..." he began, but I broke him off with a kiss. I didn't really know where that came from, I guess i was just too happy. Only on the cheek, mind. And it was quick. But still, it was a kiss.
"Wow." said Ash, when I was done. "You know, Misty... Now I remember, come to think of it, I think I like you too."
