29th September. Nothing special, just another day....
Ash sat up. Today was the weekend... That was something special though, because you got to eat a lot...
Beep.
"Pikaa?"
"Pikachu, get...my...phone..." Ash yawned and sat up.
"pika! Pika pikachu!"
"A text? From MISTY?"
"Pika!"
"Whatever..."
"PIKA!" The little yellow pokemon sighed. His trainer could be so lazy at times. But at least he always had a way to solve it. Like right now.
"PI...KA...CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!" yelled pikachu, and let out a somewhat powerful thunderbolt, making Ash jump out of bed.
"What was that for?!?" Ash yelped. "Fine, I'm getting up!" While he got dressed, he glanced at the text on his phone. Ash, open the door! It's raining out here!
"COMING!" he shouted, and ran down the stairs. He opened up the door.
"Misty, are you insane? You could've frozen to death out there!"
"Frozen? It's rain, not snow, Dumbash Ketchum. Besides, I can't miss your special day."
"What day?"
"Your birthday, stupid! Open it, come on!"
Misty thrust a small box into his hands. Ash tore off the wrapping paper, earning an exasperated sigh from Misty as the wrapping paper was hand drawn by herself with pikachus on. Except Ash didn't know it, of course.
"Wow Misty! A pokemon egg! That's so cool! I wonder what's in it..."
"Well, I'll give you a hint- Pikachu will be like a brother to it..."
"And what about this?" Ash looked at a small box inside the big one. "Wonder what this is..."
"Misty, A master ball?!?!?! That must've cost you half your life!"
"Anything for you, I guess." Misty said, blushing.
"I'd do anything for you too."

"Hey, May!" A familiar voice brought May back to the present, snapping her out of her delusion about Drew. Brown hair, red top, green shoulder bag... And a familiar smile. More of a grin than anything. Mischievous, yes, but practically perfection. And the name of that perfection was Brendan.
"Hey Brendan." May stroked skitty again. "What're you doing here?"
"You don't seem surprised to see me here." Brendan walked into her bedroom and sat down on her bed next to her.
"You always come anyway, I was expecting you."
"Really May?" Brendan tipped his head, then grinned again. "Well, I guess we both get used to each other."
"Uh-huh..." May looked at the time. Wait, 9:30?!?!?! She was supposed to meet Drew! But then she'd never been sure about Drew since she heard him talking about Brianna the way he used to talk about her, and the way Brendan still talked about her, all the time. "Brendan, I kinda have to go..."
"Why, what for?" Brendan stood up suddenly. "I'll take you there. Are you meeting anyone? You want me to come with you?" He took her hand, startling May with its warmth.
"Never mind," May smiled at him and sat back down. Who cared about Drew? he could have as many girls as he wanted, but May belonged to Brendan, from head to toe.

Brendan felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned round, but no one was there. Until his gaze landed on a someone... someone he'd been wanting to see for a long, long time.
"Hi." Wally said, smiling at him.
"Wally!" Brendan wasn't expecting to see him here. In fact, he'd been hoping he wouldn't... Brendan wasn't sure what he thought of Wally. Sure, he liked him, but it was complicated... Too complicated.
"You ok?" Wally asked. "Hey, d'you want to see my new catch?"
"You've got a new catch? Who?"
"Look." Wally pulled out a pokeball, revealing a chingling.
"You caught it?"
"Course I did!" He smiled at him. "hey, h-"
He didn't get to finish the sentence. A trainer rushed past him, and he tripped. His face touched the ground- but it didn't. Brendan caught him in his hand.
"Oh." he said.
"Oh." said Brendan, smiling. He wasn't sure what he felt about him before, but now, he was sure he liked him. Like liked him. A lot.

"Ash!" Dawn ran after him. "You can't just run off like that! hey, come baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-"
And then she was falling, hurtling down the cliff... Piplup and her other pokemon watched from above, calling for her, reaching out, leaning over-
"No! Piplup, don't! you'll fall off, all of you, stay there! I'll be alright- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And that was when her eyes snapped open, and she sat up. She wasn't in her bed anymore, but on the ground, sweating like crazy in her blue piplup and buneary pajamas.
"Dawn? you ok?" Ash opened the door and stuck his head in, only to be greeted with a wild hug from Dawn.
"Uh..." he said, once Dawn had gotten off of him. "What was that about?"
"Oh, sorry!" Dawn squealed, still skittish from her dream. "I had a dream that you were gone and you didn't care about me, and I went falling down a cliff."
"We both know I wouldn't do that by now." Ash smiled reassuringly/
"Really?"
Ash stroked a lock of Dawn's soft blue hair, and rubbed it between her fingers.
"I'll never leave you, Dawn. I'll always come back. And I'll never, ever let you fall without knowing i'll be there to catch you."
"I'm not a baby." Dawn giggled.
"What will your mom say to that?"
"...That I'll always be her baby?"
"I guess. You might not be a baby, Dawn, but I'll be there anyway."
