Hey! Sorry, this chapter was very short, but I needed to get to the point. The next chapter will be better. She will be meeting Old Ben the Sorcerer! Please, if you want, give me ideas for future chapters, cause I can add them in for more action in between the storyline. Vote, comment, and enjoy! xxx :D Sophia

Darren texted me. I was in too much shock to notice. When I got to the library, I showed Mrs Fig my library pass (which I won from Incoveshire High(worth £20 a month)), and searched the ‘Myths and Legends’ section. I looked in the ‘m’ section to see if there was anything useful, but there were only books that had everything in them. I came across the ‘s’ section, and tore out a book talking about ‘Shy Loons’ which were mad people that were terribly shy, but it was no use to me. I thought about it for a moment, before going back to ‘m’ and found a few thick books I could study on.

I found myself an empty table, and put my books on it. I opened the first one, Magic, Mythical and Mad! and flicked through to ‘s’.

790 - Sender Flies

790 - Shudder Termas

791 - Shy Loons

...

The list was too long. I eventually gave up on it, without finding anything to do with being in the middle of heaven and hell. There was nothing on Spirits, either, so I got out the next book, Mythology, everything you need to know!

Spirit Eaters are very special creatures that lie in lakes waiting for prey. They consist of:

A wobbly, crooked nose

A very thin mouth specially for their tone of voice

Blue, green or yellow hair

Be careful if you see one, they are very dangerous. But scientists believe they are not real.

What kind of useless information was this? I flicked through the rest, before taking the next book in my pile.

I had got to the second to last one, and the binding was fragile. The cover was thick with blue fabric, with the words: A Myth is Told Like a Story. I confused myself in thoughts, but opened it all the same. I first went to ‘m’, and found nothing but the types of monsters, then went to ‘s’.

There it was! My heart skipped a beat when I saw it.

The Spirit Stealers

Maisy Trelladone had two younger sisters. One Lily, and the other Petunia. They all had different fathers, and you could tell this because Maisy had blonde hair, Lily had ginger and Petunia had brown. Their mother was called Lavender Evans, and only Maisy went after her father, because she lived with him for nearly all her life.

They were very powerful witches, and spent most of their time in a boarding school for witches only. But Petunia did not want to go, because she was ashamed of being a witch. Her father as non-magical though.

I carried on reading until I found the part which told me about the thing that happened if anyone trespassed.

The legend continued. The preposterous Petunia’s husband died, from the attack of Miss Anna-Beth Treacle. Leading to this, Petunia mourned his death for seventeen years.

She brought all the houses back. Maisy Trelladone Way was back again. The people living there returned, from their long sleep and visit to Shadow Boulevard, the death place for witches. She then went into hiding, in 17 Maisy Trelladone Way‘s attic, 17 because that was the number of years she mourned her husbands’ death.

I had already read all this…

People that trespass her hiding place are taken in, shaken around until their soul has been completely removed, and thrown out of the attic. They would show no sign of any living, and would literally be buried alive. They soon die of starvation, though.

There is now a way to defeat the Spirit Stealers. There are a series of challenges you have to go through, none of which are known because all the people who tried have never come back.

This information was enough for me. I put the book back with a smile on my face, before thanking Mrs Fig and walking out. I knew exactly where to go. Old Ben the Sorcerer.
