Quinn refused to let go of me. I sat him quietly in my lap while Fang circled my ankles.
"Anything you wanna watch?" Jordan chewed his lip.
"Not really. Ow, Quinn, watch your fingers when you put your hands on my face."
Jordan laughed. "Did he get his finger stuck in your snake bite?"
"Yes. Oh the joy of putting a ring in, instead of a stud."
Christofer walked in, running his hand through his curls.
"Move." He ordered Jordan.
"No. I was here first." Jordan stuck his chin out.
"I said move you stupid ass."
"And I said no."
Christofer shoved Jordan in the face so hard he fell off the sofa. Quinn giggled.
"Laugh it up, fuzzball." Jordan growled.
"You did not just use a Star Wars line on Quinn." I raised an eyebrow.
"I did. Han Solo to Chewbacca, The Empire Strikes Back."
"Nerds." Christofer snorted.
Jordan stuck two fingers up and Christofer dived at him.
"Why you little shit.." He snarled, pinning Jordan to the floor and grabbing a fistful of his hair. Now I see where Quinn gets it from.
Quinn clambered off my lap and started trying to push Christofer off. His efforts where helpless.
"Get off me you gay bender." Jordan tried to knee Christofer in the man parts, but Christofer dodged.
"Im not gay." Christofer slammed Jordans head to the floor.
This was all getting very out of hand.
"There's nothing wrong with gays." I said quietly.
They stopped fighting to look at me.
"What?" Christofer said.
"Jordan called you a gay bender and I was simply pointing out there is nothing wrong with gays.." my voice trailed off.
Then they both burst out laughing. Quinn copied, though he had no idea what they were laughing about.
Christofer climbed off his brother and held out a hand to help him up. Jordan picked Quinn up and sat him between us.
"Adventure Time?" He suggested.
"Duh." I poked my tongue out at him.
We sat and watched Adventure Time for about two hours. By then Quinn was asleep and Christofer had a can of No Fear in his right hand.
The main lights were off and the only light leaking into the room was from the TV and the setting sun rays peeping through a gap in the curtains.
The episode finished and Quinn twitched.
"I better be getting home." I shifted slightly, stretching my arms and arching my back.
"NO!" Quinn screamed, jolting awake. "STAY AWEX!"
Jordan yawned. "I think your going to have to stay. Quinn won't let you leave."
"But your mum.."
"She's known you since you were crawling round in nappies and Daniel was throwing tantrums. I think she'll be fine with you staying over for one night."
"YAY! AWEX STAY!" Quinn wrapped himself round me, hugging me tight and kissing my nose.
"Stay here." Jordan patted my head. I stayed put and bounced Quinn gently up and down on my lap.
"Be careful." Christofer warned. "He may love you with all his heart but that won't stop him emptying his digestive tracts on you."
"Charming." I muttered, but stopped anyway.
Christofer grunted in reply and slurped his drink. "So why you wanna stay here anyway? It's a shit hole."
"I like it." I say, looking around. There was two oak cabinets littered with pictures of the boys either side of a coal fire, a huge TV in the north east corner of the room, two white leather sofas and a furry green rug. The walls were a soothing dark clover green, and the whole entire house had an aroma of cinnamon and cherry and woodsmoke.
Quinn nuzzled into my shoulders and Christofer smiled. I could barely see the corners of his mouth twitch because of the flickering flames, but he smiled.
"It'll be fun having you here, someone to keep Jordan and Quinn away from me at the same time. Result." He drawled slowly.
Jordan burst in, grinning. "Mum says stay as long as you like. Oh, and tea is ready."
