I had no choice but to follow him.
"Danny, me and Jordan are just gonna walk ok? Stuff we need to talk about."
Daniel poked his head round the door, wrinkling his nose. "Ok. You've got an hour."
I started a dead sprint, my shoes thudding rhythmically against the road. I could just see Jordan in the distance, his head down on his chest.
"Jordan!" I yelled, but it was quiet. I had been running for above five minutes straight, trying to catch up with him. My stomach was turning somersaults and my lungs were burning. I hurt all over and fine beads of sweat were racing down my face. Jordan still kept walking, tucking his hands into his pockets and shifting his shoulders.
"Jordan stop!" I screamed, my legs threatening to collapse beneath me, leaving me sprawled on the floor. I couldn't run anymore. I bent over, pushing my hands into my knees until I was crouched down on the pavement with my head in my hands.
When I opened my eyes, I saw a pair of purple Converse. Jordan was kneeling down in front of me.
"Hey." He said softly, lifting my chin up gently so I was staring into his beautiful face.
"Hey." I whispered, smiling slightly. My shoulders were still heaving with the need for oxygen.
"I thought I heard you yelling for me." Jordan put his hand on my face, gliding his fingers beneath my eyes, behind my ears and down my to my neck. He fiddled with a dark purple strand of hair, plaiting it. "I turned around and saw you gasping for breath. I ran as fast as I could."
"Thanks."
Jordan stood up, brushing his jeans down and pulling me up with such speed the world started to spin.
"So why were you following me?" Jordan asked as we continued walking.
"I wanted to make sure you were okay, that you didn't do anything.." I wanted to say 'didn't do anything stupid' but I wasn't sure if that was the right thing to say.
"Didn't to anything you might regret." I finished. He raised an eyebrow, but decided to let it drop.
"Ok." He chewed his lip. "Thank you."
I didn't know what to say anymore, and it was obvious Jordan thought the same thing.
I decided to do what I always do; look at his face and take his perfection in.
His eyes were floating around the scenery and I watched him intently, trying to think of an exact name for the shade of green his eyes were. Like a warm clover mixed with emerald. It was hard.
"What are you even doing?" Jordan frowned. I hadn't realized that while I was trying to put names to colours, I had leant to within millimetres of his face. Jordan turned his head to watch a passing car, angling away from the crazy girl catalogging his eyeballs.
"Um.. sorry." I mumbled, stepping as far away from him as possible. "I'm such a weirdo and I really apologize."
Jordan laughed, but leaned closer to me. My heart almost stopped beating.
He closed the gap between us by placing his hands on my hips, and pulling me close. I stared as Jordan's eyes bored into mine, I've never felt so controlled.
Our lips were so close, that if I took a deep breath, we'd be kissing. I felt light headed and dizzy.
His lips had just brushed mine when my phone vibrated in my pocket.
Jordan sighed and pulled away, swearing under his breath. Stupid phone. I groaned and glared at my screen.
Ready to go?
Daniel x
I wanted to scream at him for ruining the moment, but I couldn't without making it look like I wanted to grab Jordan and smash my mouth against his. Some people honestly have the touch for ruining perfect moments. My brother just happened to be one of them.
