Jordan had been way over ten minutes. I checked my watch. It was 1:36. Almost an hour since he disappeared.
Saying it was cold was a bit of an understatement. It was finger numbing, toe freezingly cold. I rubbed my hoodie against my arms, hoping for some warmth.
I could see my breath. Clouds of white swirling around then disappearing into the black night.
I closed my eyes and tried to warm my hands. I must have lost track of time, because when I opened my eyes and looked my watch it was 1:58.
This was starting to get ridiculous. He was nowhere in sight.
I began to walk, my feet crunching on the frosty grass. Occasionally I would slip a little and panic. I was far away from Jordan's house now.
It really didnt help that Jordan had dressed himself all in black so if I had seen him, I hadnt seen him. If you understand.
My stomach started to rumble but I ignored and carried on walking.
It was only when I stopped looking at my feet and looked up to see where I was going did I see huge sand banks and hear crashing waves. I had managed to walk to the sea, a good 40 minutes walk away from Jordan's house.
I touched the cold metal railing that overlooked the sand. The wind kept blowing my fringe across my face and I sighed. I needed to find Jordan.
I turned around and began walking back. Maybe he was back home. I was nearly tripping over my own feet with pure exhaustion by the time I even recognized the street I was on. I had gone the wrong way, for christ sake.
I groaned and looked at the name of the street. Pear Tree Street.
Jordan lived about three blocks away. This was all too hard in the dark.
"I know I need to find you Jordan." I mumbled sleepily. "But im tired." It was 2:46 and my lips were turning blue.
Finally I got back to his stony driveway and I watched my footing; one misplaced step could either end up with me falling over or making a load of noise and waking Quinn up.
I reached my hand out to open the door when someone reached out from behind and grabbed me.
