I was so unsettled about the truck, it's all I had in mind, the situation made me feel sick.

I wasn't answering calls or texts unless it was work related. I was in silent mode and took an uber to work. I didn't inform five-o, as much as I disliked Quinn, I didn't want to see her incarcerated, the regime's too fucked, she needs emotional counseling.

The truck was fixed within the week, the insurance covered the costs, but driving didn't feel the same, I was still rattled.

I was home from work this noon and decided to chill outside, some fresh air was needed.

The doorbell chimed, I was muddled, who the fuck is that? I didn't send invites.

I went into the hall and unlocked the door. Amina stood there with a bottle of Don Julio in her hand. "Hi, lo."

"Hi?" I observed. "You weren't answering the calls, so I wanted to make sure all was well." Amina stated.

"Oh." I uttered, looking at the bottle. "Here." Amina handed me the bottle. "You came here to make me drunk, mina?" I asked.

"Yes." Amina answered in a flat tone, there was no hesitation. I smiled and held the bottle, at least she knows what I like.

Amina and I drank on the deck.

"So... is all well?" Amina asked. "Yeah... a little." I answered. "But, I'll be fine."

Amina exhaled. "Your crush should be a distraction from this."

"Hm."

"I don't know her name."

"Tahiri." I noted. "And how's that advancing?" Amina asked. "I haven't been answering her texts."

"Oh, come on, don't fumble the bag over this shit. Quinn's an ex. Tahiri's now, answer the fucking texts, lo."

"Amina, she doesn't even want me." I said.

"Huh?"

I looked at her.

"But, all this time I—"

"No." I said. "Oh... well... oh." Amina ceased. "You sure?"

"I don't know. I could be incorrect, but it feels like she doesn't, she said she wants to be friends and I told her I was fine with that."

Amina stared at me, shook. "...is the bitch hetero?"

"I don't even know." I answered. "Plus, I don't want her involved in this shit or I'd have to kill Quinn."

"Girl, this is too much." Amina shook her head. "I assumed us het's were bad, but the lesbian's have drama, too."

I stood, ruffled. "I need a swim." I started undressing. "You have fun, I'll sit here and... drink."

I fell into the water. Amina sat back, watched the clouds, and drank the alcohol.

Amina left around sunset, I showered, and ordered some food. I checked Tahiri's texts.

"Good morning." 6/23

"You ok?" 6/24

"Hello?"
"You alive?" 6/25

"???" 6/26

"😐" 6/27

"I'm still waiting on that foot rub." 6/28

I cheesed at the last text and answered, but I didn't receive a text back, karma was waiting.
