PART FOUR — RUCKUS
Daisee was involved... Daisee was the one behind all this. I can't believe I blamed Quinn.
Fuck.
I needed to hear the truth from Daisee. I needed to hear the reason.
I went to her home in Little Havana, I remembered where the brown house was. A latino man was sitting on the stairs, smoking.
I walked over. "Is Daisee home?" I asked him, observing his wrist, there was no tattoo.
"...and who's asking, hm?"
"A friend." I answered. "Mm." He observed me. "You're that dike, huh?" He mumbled. I didn't hear him.
The house's door drew back. He and I looked. Daisee leaned out, viewing us. "I knew I heard talking." Her orbs were on the man. "You're still here, Pablo?"
Pablo stood with the blunt in his mouth. "I'm leaving now, I wanted a smoke."
Daisee rolled her orbs. "You can smoke and walk." Pablo smiled and left the house. Daisee looked at me, her face shifted to contentment. "Hi."
"Hello." I muttered. "I came here to talk."
I won't act like I know, I'll wait until she cracks.
"You couldn't have called?" Daisee asked. "It'd be better said face to face."
Daisee smirked and moved aside. "I like the sound of that. You can come in." I nodded and entered the house. Daisee and I sat in the living room.
"I'll be honest. You and I should've been an item from the moment we met." Daisee stated.
I was bewildered.
"Isn't this about us? You and I coming to terms? You came here out of the blue."
Oh, lord.
"It's about time we have that drink." Daisee added. "Ok, sure, but answer this." I said.
"Yes?"
"You live with a man, correct?"
"Yes, a roommate. He won't interfere with us."
"And does this roommate have a tattoo on his wrist?"
Daisee shook her head. "I have no clue. I don't look at men."
"...I see. I was robbed earlier this week."
"Oh, that's sad."
There was little emotion in her reaction.
"You know who did it?" Daisee asked. "I do." I answered. "It's the reason I'm here."
Daisee ceased for a moment, there it was, she assumed I'd tell her no.
"It's someone in this house." I added. "Your roommate."
Daisee scoffed. "You're insane, I don't think he has a tattoo on his wrist, I don't even know if he has a tattoo on his wrist, a'lot of men can have tattoos on their wrists."
"You're a sick bitch for sending him." I said. "I didn't send a soul. You're mistaking me for someone else and I find that rude."
"Your name isn't Daisee?"
"Yes, bu-but there could be other Daisee's."
"Your name isn't that common." I said. "I know all about the little schemes, the cash offered to ruin me. You can't trick me. You're a bitch." I wanted to ruffle her. "You think I could ever date someone like that?"
Daisee stared me down, her left orb started twitching, she was irritated. Her head shook.
"You know what."
I stared back.
"You fucking deserved it. Your words are so hurtful. You fail to notice. You've hurt and dismissed me so much. I was frustrated."
"Daisee, no one deserves to be robbed, no one deserves to have their vehicle desecrated over refusal." I said. "You even sent idiotic men to fumble the restaurant during service."
Daisee held her head in distress. "You're the one to blame! You caused this!"
"You have issues." I said, let down. "You're dead to me." I headed to the door. "No, don't do this!" Daisee sobbed. "LOGAN, PLEASE!"
I left her in the house.
A vehicle ceased at the sidewalk, two men climbed out. One held a cell to his ear, talking. I clocked a lion on his wrist.
It was the dickhead who robbed me.
Fabián.
I walked down the stairs. Fabián saw me and halted, he lowered his cell in shock. He and I had a stare-down.
Fabián ended his call. His friend viewed me in confusion. "Yo, the fuck is this bitch doing here?" He asked.
Fabián marched to the door. "Daisee!" He shouted, there was nothing but sobbing.
Fabián turned and scowled at me. "You're fucked!" His fist flew and hit me. I socked him in the mouth and blood rushed from his teeth.
I was infuriated.
His friend shoved me. Fabián held his mouth and ran at me. I hit him in the cheek. He wobbled back and hit the concrete. I kicked him in the face so fucking hard, I shattered his nose.
His friend blindsided me. I stumbled. His fist struck me in the mouth. I fell. Fabián kicked me all over. "You... fucking... bitch!" He hollered.
Daisee rushed out of the house. "Fabián!"
Fabián ceased, looking at her. I socked his friend in the head and kicked him off me. I retaliated and held the firearm...
"No!" His friend reached for me.
A bullet hit Fabián in the neck. Daisee bellowed in horror. His friend clutched me and tried to snatch the firearm. He and I tussled, he scratched me in the face.
A bullet fired...
His friend was shot in the abdomen.
All I could hear was ringing. I breathed hard and stared at their lifeless bodies, I felt sick seeing them...
I ran to the truck. Daisee sobbed and screamed, holding Fabián in her arms. I left and never looked back. I was shaking.
