xix. cocktails

quinn (flashback)

A close friend of mine, Kali, invited me to a cocktail event at a bar in Brickell, Miami. The bar was on the twentieth floor of a new, esteemed hotel. It wasn't as tall, but it was luxurious.

I felt rich riding in the elevator, the dress I wore looked rich too, but I wasn't.

A woman can dream.

The bar was full of invitees, all drinking cocktails, chatting, chuckling, and eating hors d'oeuvres.

"Quinn!" I heard someone call.

I looked to the left, Kali was coming towards me with a broad smile between her cheeks.

"Kali, hi!" I returned.

Kali and I shared an embrace.

"You look fabulous." Kali told me. "You do, too." I said, beaming.

Kali was wearing a trouser suit.

"The others are over here." Kali said, introducing me to her three friends.

The host of the event was her wife. Kali and I met twelve months back on a cruise to the Caribbean. I was on vacation and traveled with Sabrina and Jasmine, the best friends.

During the conversation, I noticed one of the chef's at the buffet table staring me down. A female, to be exact, she was slender, looked masculine, and her hair was in a man bun.

Our orbs met, she didn't avert, but I did, that woman was cute as hell.

"Um, excuse me one moment." I told them.

Kali nodded.

I walked over to the buffet table. "Yes?" I asked the female.

"Huh?"

"You were staring at me." I noted. "Oh." The female said. "I like the dress. Your bod looks astonishing... flavorous."

I smiled, liking those words.

"I'm Logan." The female introduced. "You?"

"Quinn." I answered. Her and I shook hands. "Your hands are soft." Logan told me. "Your touch must be fascinating."

"I mean, it could be." I said. "I'm sure it is." Logan conceded. "You haven't felt them." I told her. "You want me to?"

Oh, wow.

I tittered. "How about later, when the event's over? You and I can learn more about each other." Logan added.

"I'm down." I said, smiling. "Cool." Logan bobbed. "Your friends are looking."

I turned. "I'll head back over." I returned to Kali and her friends.

That woman's allure absorbed me... I want to know more about her. I couldn't wait until the event was over, she's all that was in mind.
