PART THREE — DATE

Tahiri marched back to me with tissue in her hand. Her face was twisted, what the hell occurred in there, she sat down and chucked the box onto the blanket.

I was bewildered. "You ok, mamas?"

"I'm fine." Tahiri answered, her face still twisted. "It doesn't look so." I said.

"I am." Her irritation was increasing. "You can't fool me." I said. "You communicate, remember?"

Tahiri exhaled. "I ran into an ex, he works in the store."

"Oh. You, too, huh?" I mumbled, disturbed.

"He's such an asshole, he cheats on me, and thinks I'll take him back. He caused me months of heartbreak and torment. I was so fucking hurt, I loved that man so much, I was there for him, cared for him, did whatever he wanted, I chose him over others, and he still turned around and did that to me." Tahiri's orbs watered. "He doesn't even have remorse."

"He's a menace." I said, feeling dreadful.

Tahiri cried, this shit was serious, she was so frustrated. "I'm sorry, mamas." I told her, caressing her back. "You want me to beat his ass?" I cleaned her tears. "I'll knock him the fuck out."

Tahiri smiled and shook her head. "You deserve better." I said. "I'd like the foot rub now." Tahiri told me.

"Yes, ma'am." I moved. "You can lie back." Tahiri laid down. "I should've walked with lotion." I said. "I have some." Tahiri mentioned, handing me the lotion.

"Oh. You wanted this bad." I uttered. Tahiri cackled. "Oh, no, I—"

"There's no need to lie, mamas." I said, taking the lotion. "You're here."

Tahiri was on a roll, her cackle wasn't dimming. "I think we should do this more often." I said, rubbing her feet with lotion.

"The foot rubs?"

"Girl, dates." I answered. "Oh." Tahiri uttered. "I'll reserve a table at Deluxé." I smiled, what the hell.

"Ok, now, we're talking." I humored. Tahiri beamed. "I'll look forward to it."

"I won't be the one cooking." I added. "It doesn't matter." Tahiri stated. "I want to taste the food."

"The whole menu?"

"Now that's doing too much."

I cheesed. "I'll sort it out." Tahiri nodded. "You have nice toes." I commented, looking. "You are so weird." Tahiri said. "But, thanks."

"No, I'm cool." I denied. "You're welcome."

Tahiri and I ate more food, ate some snacks, and drank non-alcoholic wine.

Our first date ended with uno, she was brutal and showed no lenience, she told me she was skilled because of her little brother, their whole childhood was a contest.
