PART FIVE - RUCKUS

I went home, hid the firearm in a box, and left it in the closet for all time. I doddered into the bathroom and vomited in the toilet.

I couldn't cease shaking... I took two lives from this world... I didn't think, I acted... I was now a criminal.

I felt numb, miserable... relieved. I felt remorse, but at the same time, I didn't.

I shut all the curtains and isolated in the house for the rest of the week. I needed to think, to heal.

I couldn't even be redeemed. I couldn't eat, slumber, I was in a terrible state and had ten missed calls from Daisee. I blocked her number and muted the cell.

Tahiri was coming over, her texts wouldn't cease, and the last time I went silent caused an issue, so I had to make a choice.

I sent her the address and laid on the couch until she came. I didn't even want to move.

A vehicle roared outside, that lambo was loud as hell. I ambled to the door, I felt slack. I saw Tahiri and welcomed her inside.

"It's so dark in here." Tahiri stated, looking around. "And it's still noon."

"I'm a blood-sucker." I said. Her orbs fell on me. "You look sick."

"I haven't sucked blood in a while." I elaborated. "Quit messing around." Tahiri stated. "You're bruised all over."

I was left with marks. I looked busted.

"It's minor." I noted. "I had a tussle with some men... the restaurant was robbed."

"What?!" Tahiri exclaimed. "It occurred last week." I added. Tahiri held her mouth in distress. "I can't believe this."

"Me neither." I smiled, I felt like diving from a cliff. "Oh, come here." Tahiri embraced me.

"I feel so bad."

"You aren't the one to blame." I said, holding her close. "I know, but this is so awful. You still look cute at least... with all those wounds."

"Girl." I scoffed.

Having her around made me feel a bit better.

Her and I sat on the couch. "I haven't eaten in a while... I think that's the reason I look sick." I told her.

"I think it's all the above, sweetie." Her brows were curled. "I'll make food."

"You don't have to." I said. "You shouldn't starve." Tahiri stated. "You should at least eat a little."

"I have breakfast items, no food."

Tahiri exhaled and stood. "I'll make it work, it'll be brunch."

"...the kitchen's across the corridor."

Tahiri nodded and left. I held the cell and clocked three texts from an unknown number.
