tahiri
I didn't know whether Logan was alive or dead, an entire week and I haven't heard a word. But, the bait I set had worked. Her ass was shunning me and for that... I left her on read.
I sat in the studio coloring a canvas. Kofi was at lunch. Selina and Jaime were home.
The doorbell sounded. I looked over and saw the shunner entering. I halted and stared her down.
"I can delineate." Logan said. "You can choke too." I told her, averting back to the canvas.
"Is it that serious?" Logan asked, baffled. "You tell me. I'm not the one skimming texts." I answered, vexed.
"You know, for someone who wants to be friends—" Logan started.
"You can miss me with that shit."
"You should let me finish."
I hushed.
"—You sure are bothered." Logan ended. "That's because friends don't snub each other." I stated, arms crossed. "You communicate... with the reason."
Logan snatched a stool and sat near me. "I was dealing with some shit and wanted to be alone, that's the reason."
"Ok. You feel better now?" I asked. "No, but... an embrace could make me."
"You aren't slick at all."
Logan smiled. I embraced her... and it felt marvelous. I tried to move, but she wouldn't let me. "I'll need a few more minutes."
I exhaled and let her have them. "You want the foot rub now?" I smiled. "I'm at work."
"Mm, well, can we have a date? ...a real one?"
I fell silent, I wasn't looking for this.
"Tahiri?"
Oh, fuck it, she never wanted to be friends, I was an idiot to force that on her when I knew damn well I was interested, too.
I didn't want it to be true, but if I wasn't attracted to her, she would not be here.
I was in denial.
"Yes." I answered. Her face looked starstruck. "You mean that?"
"Yes... let's have a date."
"Oh, shit. You're in for a fucking ride."
"You never have a dull moment, huh?" I asked. "I like to entertain." Logan smirked.
"I have to finish this canvas." I said. "I'll find a location for our date." Logan told me. I bobbed. Logan said farewell and left.
I looked towards the office and clocked Kofi at the door. "You're meddlesome." I told him.
Kofi smiled. "Ms. Dasalan has a date."
"Oh, don't start." I mumbled.
Kofi walked over, still smiling. "I want to hear all about how this started."
"I need to finish this." I said, viewing the canvas. Kofi sat on the stool. "You can multitask." I stared at him.
"I'm all ears." He added.
I resumed coloring and elaborated on how the rascal and I met, she was and still is such a nuisance.
