Part 31: Brother

(Noriko's pov) 

My hands clenched more the longer I stared at the nonchalant male. He threw his cigarette to the floor before snubbing it out and putting his hands in his pockets. 

"What's with that face," he asked," aren't you happy to see your Big Brother?"

"DON'T GIVE ME THAT CRAP!" I screamed angrily. "Where the hell have you been?! Why did you come back all of a sudden, Shoutaru?!" 

Shoutaru sighed while rubbing the back of his neck and closing his eyes. "You're still such a loud mouth." My eyes narrowed more. "Answer," I demanded. He opened one eye to look at me, clicking his tongue. 

"Can't a man come back to his home?" He asked.

"There's no place like that for you here." 

He feigned a pained expression. "As cold as I may seem, your words really do hurt me." He stated with faked sadness. I stayed indifferent. "Why are you here?" I repeated. He released an airy laugh. 

"You really are soulless. Ne, Little Sister, are you still participating in those illegal fighting ranks? I got some cash to burn."

My anger began to rise to a dangerous level. "Don't change the subject Shoutaru," I growled," I'm still debating on whether or not I should break your teeth." He snickered while mumbling the words, "So violent." 

He put his hand in his coat pocket and took out another cigarette and lighter. I watched as he lit the end and took a deep breath of the deadly toxin. "I have some business in town and I thought I'd stop by and check on you. I heard you were in the hospital."

My frowned worsened. "Don't act as if you care. What're you planning?" I seethed. 

"What could I be planning, I wonder. Perhaps something fantastic, sadistic, or maybe even something...vengeful." Shoutaru's eyes glazed over with mischief and wry. My brows furrowed. 'Vengeful?' 

"Oi Noriko! Where the hell did you go?"
