Twenty Six

Grayson

I paced back and forth in front of the waiting room door.

I couldn't stay still, every time I sat down I felt the need to get back up and move.

I could tell I was clearly annoying the shit out of everyone in the room so I went to the bathroom.

I looked up in the mirror, my complexion was pale and my face was puffed up. You could tell I had just woken up.

I went back to the waiting room and this time say down and remained seated.

"Grayson?" The doctor asked
"Yea, I'm right here" I said as I got up and walked towards him.

"Arabella is asking for you"

I walked through the doors and into the hallway. I walked past the rooms until I arrived at the delivery room.

Arabella was laying down. She was sweaty and a look of pure exhaustion was over her face.

"Hey" I whispered as I walked near her.

She rolled her head over, a light smile on her face.

Her eyes were barely opened
"Hi" she said as she reached out for my hand.

I grabbed her hand.

"Did you see the baby?"
"No, not yet"

As she said that a nurse walked in with the baby.

"Congratulations, it's a girl"

The biggest smile formed on my face as she handed over the baby

"Thank you" I said as she walked out closing the door.

Arabella scooted over making room for me.

"Hiiiii" she whispered as she put her finger out for the baby to grab.

"What are we going to call her?"
"I have no idea"

"I sort of like Amber"
"What about Amber Bailey Dolan?"

"You're seriously going to give our daughter the same middle name as you?"

"Yes" I said as I leaned in to kiss her.
