Marlanda watched nervously from the bottom window of Professor Tweedle's office as the security converged around the exterior of the library. She wasn't so concerned that the students involved in the events would tell on her and Shawn. She just didn't want anything to get back to the professor and his involvement.

As the security guards went inside she turned from the window and walked over to where the professor was cleaning a cut on Shawn's forehead.

"You don't think they'll tie this back to you do you, professor?" Marlanda asked. She was pulling up a chair beside the professor and continued the work he was doing on Shawn.

"There's nothing to place me or tie me into the scene." He took a quick look out the window. "I think it's best to stay low for a couple of hours until they take their investigation on another trail. I know and you know they won't find any trace of the minions in the library." He sighed then walked to the sink where he began washing his hands in the sink.

Shawn caught a twinkle of a smile from Marlanda as she ran her fingers across his bandage. He felt his face get warm and he knew she saw him blush. He got up quickly and looked back at her. "Uh... thanks," he said nervously.

"No problem." She averted her eyes and felt her own blush cross her face.

Shawn turned to the professor, "Where do we go from here?"

The professor was wiping his hands with a towel, "Well since you found that newspaper article I would suggest that's where we begin. I'll tell Judy, my secretary, to make the arrangements in the morning. Until then I suggest the both of you get some rest, there won't be much time to relax in the future, I guarantee you that."

The two of them watched the professor walk to his chair, grab his coat and head for the door. "Don't get in too much trouble tonight." He chuckled then walked out the door.

The two of them stood in silence avoiding each other's gaze. It took a few minutes but finally Shawn took the initiative and looked over at her.

"Uh... what do you want to do tonight?" He asked nervously.

"I don't know what do you want to do."

The moment was awkward neither one knowing what to do next. Shawn took a deep breath then let it out, "Uh... Uh... Do you want to go to a movie?" He spurted it out without thinking.

"Uh... Sure... That would be nice." She felt a blush welling up inside again.

Shawn perked up immediately, "Great, I guess I'll see you tonight."

"Uh, Shawn." She said whimsically.

"Yea." His eyes were now glossing over.

"It is night, we can go now."

"Oh yeah, right." He stood motionless for a second staring at nothing. Marlanda sensing his nervousness stepped forward grabbed his arm and directed him to the door.

"Come on Shawn let's go." She whispered gently.

"Yea... right... we go now... let's go... I really like movies." He staggered to the door; Marlanda stood back and shook her head.

'Boys, will they ever change?' She thought, and then followed him out the door.

Shawn was a bundle of nerves that night, although he wouldn't admit it this was his first date with a girl he really liked. He'd had other dates where he would go out for a soda with others, but this girl was different. Every time he got close to her he would feel his heart race and he would start to sweat. Most of the time he was able to talk easily with girls, but this one kept him tongue-tied. He couldn't think and he couldn't eat. All he wanted to do was be near her, and when he got close he couldn't think of anything to say, he only wished she wouldn't think him as stupid.
