The once peaceful surroundings of the lagoon were torn apart by the massive lightning and wind that swept across the increasing heightening waves. Large white swells turned in a turbulent display as they crashed against the rocks off in the distance.
Fin stood along the coastline his clothes billowing in the cooler breeze and the rain that seemed to come from out of nowhere. He watched the large ship bob amongst the crashing waves the closer it came to the shoreline. He looked to his right and peered at the other ghostly apparitions as they continued to dig their never ending hole in which to bury the treasure.
A battle was coming quickly and he knew if he didn't get the relic and get the heck away from here something drastic could happen that would end the search and quite possibly his life.
Fin looked down the long row of rocks that formed a perfect half moon from the sandy shore to its peak a few hundred feet away. Fin ran along the beach, his feet sinking in the soft sand to which they left a trail of footprints. If it wasn't for the few ghosts that adorned the beachfront you would think he was alone in the moonlight for it was only he that left any signs that anyone was there.
He skidded to a stop just before the rocks and thought quickly of the best way to go along them so he could position himself as close to the ghostly galleon as he could. He knew going by way of the rocks would be the most dangerous route, but he had to get a good look at the area around the ship to be able to see anything.
The wind was thrashing the lagoon now and he found standing on the slippery rocks harder than he wanted to. The rain was starting to spread across the area in large drops in a constant rhythm that almost hurt when they came from above.
Fin threw off his shoes as the grip they were giving started to wane. He scrambled across the rocks moving across them like a seal to water. Large waves crashed against the sides spraying seawater high into the air. Fin at one point almost slipped off a large boulder he was standing on and when he pulled himself from the brink of disaster a startling sight beheld him.
Fin started into the sky as the clouds swirled aggressively above him, the eye was only a few hundred yards away now peering down at him with all the anger of a hurricane. Fin felt the feeling in his legs start to disappear as the smell of ozone began to waft to him.
He dropped to his knees as the bolt of lightning ripped through the air hitting the rocks behind him and exploding them like dynamite inside a mountain. The shards of rock shot into the air in all directions. A few sharp pieces scratched him across the face and it was that wake-up call that sent him scrambling off the rock and towards the end of the spit that birthed the great ship.
With all carefulness aside he ran half hazard across the surfaces trying to cut the distance to the ship as best he could. Another crash just behind him sent an electric current through his feet and sent him flying into the rain-swept air and into the turbulence of the lagoon.
He knew he wouldn't last much longer trying to avoid something that was out of his control but all of a sudden as he was hugging a rock jutting out the eye turned to look in a different direction.
Fin felt the piercing stare of the eye subside and he looked back at the shore to where a large group of men shrouded in shadows stood at the edge of the forest. The storm battered the trees whipping them into frenzy above them. Fin tried to get a look at who they were but the spray from the water and the constant rain dimmed the image. One of the figures stepped from the tree line and onto the beach, Fin had no idea who it was but he felt a slight sense of recognition.
