Chapter 5

*Caroline's POV*

This was our first day the hospital. Michael, Calum and me were almost all the time with Ashton, in his hospial room and we couldn't go out very often because there were fans waiting and praying for Ash outside.

I was sitting in a chair next to Ash, watching him sleep. He looked like an angel. We were alone in the room in that moment because Michael and Calum went outside to calm the fans, since they were being really noisy and after some hours , the noise got annoying. Luke was in his house, alone. He only came once to visit Ashton and we wouldn't come again because he 'had important stuff to do'.

Ashton started moving his head and after some seconds, he woke up.
"Caroline..?" He almost whispered, while trying to open his eyes.
"Hi Ashton" i said, putting my hand in his, which had a lot of cables conected to his veins.
"Care...what happened?" He said
"Everything its fine, you just lost many blood, you will be staying here for one day or two, not big deal" i said, winking at him.
He moaned. "Ugh, two days..." He started, looking up at me "at least are you going to be here with me?" He finished, grabbing my hand harder.
I wasn't sure if i was going to be able to spend all the time with him but i didn't want to let him down so i said yes.


After talking for minutes someone came into the room, it was Mary and Emma. They came with big and colorful ballons and food for Ashton.
"Hey Ashton! We brought you something! How do you feel?" Emma said, getting closer to Ashton and touching his hair. Mary said hi and hugged me. We stayed talking for a while when Michael and Calum came in, Calum and Emma made eye contact. I could tell there was tension there.
"Care can i talk with you outside please?" Calum said, grabbing my hand and taking me outside of the room.
Once he closed the door he said "why is Emma here?"
"Because she is Ashton's friend...?" I said, unsure of why he was asking it.
He rolled his eyes, "Its a little bit awkward..." He started "well let me explain, at Julie's party i tried to get into her pants but..." My jaw dropped with a little smile in it and he continued "well she didn't want me, i tried tons of things to make her horny and nothing would work..." I giggled a bit to that, Emma wasn't very easy to get to the bed tho.


"So its a little bit awkward seeing her here since...i tried very hard to get her." He finished. I tried not to laugh and think of something to help Calum.
"Well Cal, i dont know, tell her you are sorry and that you were drunk" i told him.
"Oh...good idea Care! Thank you!" He said, as he walked in the hospital room.
"No problem!" I replied.
In that moment, i saw Luke walking towards me.
"Hey Caroline, I had a little time left so im here to visit Ashton!" He said, as he kissed my cheeck.
"Oh well he is inside, we should go in there and say hi!" I said, opening the door to Ash's hopital room. We both walked in and i closed the door.
Ashton sit on his hospital bed and said hi to Luke. He apologized again and then we all continued talking for a while, until Emma, Mary had to leave.
I was left alone with Ashton now, Michael, Calum went outside to buy food and Luke went to his house again. I have no idea of what he is doing there that is more important than his friend in the hospital.

"Care...this is a bit random but i love you" Ashton said, in the middle of our conversation about South Park.
I wasn't sure of how to answer to that, i love him too, a lot actually but there is Luke, plus Ashton has to take care of his baby. I dont want to make this harder for him and me.
I gave him a little and shy smile.
He touched my face and said "oh c'mon don't tell me that you forgot about the feelings i gave you..." He took my face closer to his, our lips closer every second.
Suddenly someone opened the door.
"Ohh i forgot my jacket" Luke said, as he walked in the room.

He saw Ashton and me about to kiss, he stood there paralized. Not saying a word. In shock.

"Oh my...im sorry. Uhm...gotta go. Have fun you too" he said, with sadness and madness in his voice.
I stood up and nearly shouted "wait Luke!" , but i was too late. He closed the door and he was gone.

He probably hates me now. I mean, he was a sweetheart when i was depressed and now he goes in a room and he sees me about to kiss Ash.

Fuck my life.

*Luke's POV*

I was furious. I have been planning a perfect date for Caroline and I the whole week to finally ask her to be my girlfriend and when i walk into a room i see her almost kissing Ashton.
Is this a fucking joke?
Maybe she can explain this and i can still make the date happen and finally ask her but i dont know...
In that moment, a text from Caroline

*can we please meet? I want to explain, it didn't want to kiss him Luke, i promise.*

I typed faster as a i could

*why are you telling me this, we aren't in a relationship or anything.*

*...because i don't want to lose you...* she replied almost a minute after.

*lose me as what?* i replied

She took a around 7 minutes to answer that.
*I love you Luke. That's why im telling you all this. Because i love you*

What? She loves me? Unexpected.

*i love you too* i replied, without thinking it.

She loves me. I love her. Fuck Ashton. She will be mine now.
