Brendon's pov:
it's officially Halloween, Ryan and I were asked by the student activities council to play halloween music today.
we're pretty excited.
our first gig.
I put on my vampire costume and make up.
I put my camera into my backpack and grab my guitar case.
I drive to Ryan's house to pick him up for school.
me : hey are you ready? i'm outside your house
ryro 💗 : coming
Ryan comes out of his house with his back pack and his guitar case.
he's wearing his mummy costume and I can't stop laughing he looks so funny but in a cute way.
he opens the car door and puts his stuff in.
"wait before you get in let me take a picture of you!" I say laughing as I take out my camera.
I take a picture of him and when I've finally finished laughing we drive to school.

when it's finally lunchtime we take out our guitars and set up in the front where they usually make announcements.
"h-hi guys if you don't know me i'm Brendon, i'm a junior and this is Ryan, he's also a junior, Your costumes look great! um we're going to play Halloween songs, if there's one in specific you want us to sing just tell us and we'll play it, also if you like us we have a YouTube channel called Pretty Odd where we post covers and original songs" I introduce us
"also don't be afraid to let loose and sing along or move to the music" ryan adds
we play, and we are pleasantly surprised at the participation of our fellow peers.
I ask Spencer to take my camera and take pictures of us as we play because this is a moment I want to remember for sure.

After school we change into pajamas and we go to Spencer's house to eat a bunch of candy and watch Halloween movies all night.
since it's Friday we can sleep over and stay up all night.
Spencer is our best friend I've known him since elementary.
we met and became best friends with Ryan the summer before middle school.
he actually discovered that I liked Ryan before even I knew that I liked Ryan.
Spencer is actually a really talented drummer Ryan and I have told him we should totally form a band but he says he's not sure playing is a passion for him.
"it's more of a hobby" he insists.
"hey, let's see who can stay awake the longest!" Ryan says.
"and as we fall asleep we get drawn on so the last person awake wins! " Spencer adds
"you guys suck! you know I'm always first to lose!" I whine
"that's why it's fun!" they say at the same time
"fine, but i'm taking more candy and the rest of the sprite" I say grabbing the half finished liter of soda
"haha oh man you're already to a bad start you know the best one to keep you awake is Coca Cola!" Spencer says taking the bottle and a bunch of candy.
"you both are idiots! don't you know how much caffeine is in Mountain Dew!" Ryan laughs taking the last soda and more candy.

it's 12:30 we're watching Halloween town high I yawn but try to cover it up as a cough so they don't think i'm going to fall asleep soon.

it's 1:40 when we notice that Ryan has fallen asleep
"yes! i'm not the first one to fall asleep for the first time!" I whisper yell as Spencer and I open our markers
I take out my camera and take a picture of his drawn on face
"do you want me to take a picture of you when you fall asleep?" Spencer says smirking
"ha ha ha, no because i'm going to win" I say confidently.
"c'mon Bren when have you ever stayed up longer than me, I saw you yawn earlier so I know you're tired" he says with a smirk
"you saw that!?" I ask shocked
"no, but now I know that you are tired, aha!" Spencer laughs

it's 2:56 when I hear Spencer snoring
"I won!" I whisper shout to myself as I draw on his face
I take a picture of him and then I take a selfie of all three of us with me in the middle making my victory face.

I wake up to the smell of pancakes and see Spencer and Ryan looking at me.
"haha look at your faces!" I laugh
"look at yours!" they laugh even louder as they snap a picture of me and hand me the Polaroid.
I look and see that they've drawn on my face.
"you might have been the last one to sleep but you were also the last one to wake up!" Ryan laughs
"aw man, I guess we're all losers"
"or we're all winners because my mom made pancakes!" Spencer says
we eat pancakes and clean up the living room because we left a mess.
Ryan and I pack up our sleeping bags and say bye to Spencer and head home.
